Working on the Bum-Bum

This was my first kettlebell Q so truth be told I googled “kettlebell circuit workout” and the bulk of the decent sites were ladies teaching how to firm up you “bum-bum’s”… Seemed like we all could use a little help in that department so I plagiarized heavily from these sites…

The disclaimer was disclaimed and we began with a short mosey around the lot with some butt kickers, high knees, side shuffles, and toy soldiers.

We circled up for warm up consisting of:

-25 Side Straddle Hops

-25 Moroccan Night Clubs

-12 Windmill

-12 Imperial Walker

-12 Hillbilly Walker

-12 Goofball (for Geronimo)

 

We mosey over to the pick-up line curb for the beginning of toning our “Bum-Bum’s”

We completed 2 circuits each consisting of 15 reps of 15 exercises with a lap around the parking lot between every 5 exercises.

-15 Kettlebell Swing

-15 Sumo Squat

-15 Lunge Pass Though (each side)

-15 Calf Raises (I actually raised this to 20 on accident but Dark Helmet kindly reminded me that I had committed to 15 earlier in the description)

-15 Split Squat (squat in a lunge position) – each side

-15 Bent Row (each side)

-15 Shoulder Press (each side)

-15 Curl (each side)

-15 Halo (each direction)

-Drive the Bus for 3 10 counts (bell extended 10 straight, 10 turned to the right, 10 turned to the left)

Tomahawk-0 to 60 in 45 mins

12 PAX and YHC came in da Gloom of Doby’s Bridge Elementary to take our daily Red Pill. As I thought about what type of beat down I’d apply I realized simple is sometimes enough. We over complicate many things and our lives and we can’t do any one thing well. So I kept it simple and effective!

The Thang:

Warm Up around the parking lot with mini COP

Grab the bells and get after it. 20 exercises for 60 secs or 1 min each and after 4 we run a lap.  Fun times had by all!!

YHC spoke about restoring old cars and how people can see the beauty in things that some of us don’t. I mentioned the research center in NC where body parts are being grown with people’s actual cells, so they can be interchanged if something goes bad….like car parts.
As much as we can exercise and change parts there is only one way to be restored…..through the Grace of Sky Q. He takes our old away and makes us New. Pathfinder Comes to Springfield

Conditions were cold and windy and some may have thought that it would be worm, including YHC’s original plan to wear shorts, but that was quickly foiled by Mother Nature. 5 PAX met at the Springfield Pool and did a tour of the golf course and neighborhood. The hills were in full effect as was the 2nd F. Great morning and thanks for the push men.

It was a dark and cool Labor Day morning. We got our kettle bell on.

Mosey to the back of the school.

WARMUP:

  • 30 Side Straddle Hops
  • 10 Windmills
  • 20 Moroccan Night Clubs
  • 10 4-count Merkins
  • 10 4-count Mountain Climbers

Mosey to the side of the school.

  • 5 burpees

Mosey to the front of the school.

  • 5 burpees

Mosey back to the parking lot and grab your bell.

The Thang:

  • Start at one end of the parking lot
  • 10 curls (each arm)
  • bear crawl halfway across the lot, run the rest
  • 4 burpees
  • run back to starting point & plank for six
  • 20 goblet squats
  • bear crawl halfway across the lot, run the rest
  • 5 burpees
  • run back to starting point & plank for six
  • 6 inches for a 10 count
  • 10 overhead press
  • bear crawl halfway across the lot, run the rest
  • 6 burpees
  • run back to starting point & plank for six
  • flutter with bell, 10 4-count
  • 10 tricep extension
  • bear crawl halfway across the lot, run the rest
  • 6 burpees
  • run back to starting point & plank for six
  • one arm press w/ flutter, 10 4-count each arm
  • run to other side of lot
  • 6 burpees
  • run back to starting point

Mosey back to COT for 3 minutes of Mary

Three of us for a nice 4:40 pre run      (birdcage,pinup &a sauerkraut)

Its Monday so I tried to do somewhat of a moderate workout but for darkhelmets 35lb bell it didn’t seem too moderate.

We started with a nice mosey around the parking lot with the bells in hand, than we circles up for some  side straddle hops, imperial walkers, merkins and some lbcs. I would be lying if I said my counting was on point this morning lol. After lots of laughing at myself! The warm up is over

workout followed…  6 cones in the parking lot each with a workout, in between each workout we ran one lap around the cones and so on.

1st cone: 10 left hand on the bell merkins /10 right hand on the bell merkins

run a lap

2nd cone: 25 lbcs with the bell

run a lap

3rd cone: 20 kb swings

run a lap

4th cone: 20 squats with the kb

run a lap

5th cone: 20 skull crushers

run a lap

6th cone: 10 left arm curls/10right arm curls

run a lap

repeat 3xs

two minutes til cot group lead abs workout

darkhelmet took us out in prayer.
