It was another fine, wonderful Monday morning at Rock Hill’s Independence AO. As per usual, I forgot I was on the Q schedule until last night. This resulted in a “on the fly” wienke, which not to my surprise, always turns out better than when I plan it. (Some fellow HIMs might disagree, but I know what I saw).
The Warm-up
- Imperial Walkers – 15 IC
- Italian Night Clubs – 25 IC
- (While I was racking my brain to make my mouth say Windmill), Sapper forced Hillbilly Walkers on us – 20 IC
- SSH – 25 IC
- Merkins – 10 IC
The THANG
After hearing some grumblings from the crowd about the warm-up not being a warm-up anymore (Sapper again, no surprise), we took a light Jog to the statue of Winthrop. Upon arrival, we initiated..
- Irkins – 25 OYO
- Derkins – 25 OYO
- Dips – 50
This was supposed to be a Wash/Rinse/Repeat, but after seeing Bourne being to the point of tears, and Chuckie screaming about how weak the workout was, I decided to move onto the main event.
To the Stairs, where DORA came to play. Partner assisted and the timing mechanism was the partner running around the block.
- Merkins – 100
- Low Slow Squats – 200
- Calf Raises – 300
Ended the workout portion with some flutter kicks – 25 IC, and only because bourne’s mumble chatter was to much we did 15 IC Box Cutters.
NMM
We had someone struggle and fall out this morning, and my point is not to shine light on that, but to shine light on the HIMs that surrounded him and lifted him up. There are regions out there that simply care about the “I” factor within F3, here in Rock Hill, I’m extremely proud of the brothership and bonds that we have created. I feel as I look on that some AO’s are getting away from the meaning of F3, which is to create and foster male leadership within our own communities, we here in Rock Hill will not be subjected to the “I” mentality. As the old saying goes, “you’re only as strong as the weakest link”. This is evident everyday that I post with these men, it’s not about bettering yourself as an Individual, it’s about better ourselves, together, as a mass. Iron sharpens Iron, no matter the physical capacity of a man, he always has something to offer.
This leads into the Grace portion, which is our monthly theme. Everyday that I step out into the gloom with these men, I am graced to be in their presence. These men, in the short 6 months that I have been apart of this organization, have helped me through many unknown struggles. I am thoroughly grateful for this group of fine men.
Warning, I went to upload my namarama, and the only thing i had was a picture of Sapper, which no one wants to see.
OH DID I FORGET TO MENTION…. 4 Freaking FNGs this morning!!!
Sapper – I’m glad to have you back out with us and off the meds, take care of that deviated septum, chicken flicker.
Bourne – Thank you for making the drive from Indian Land, I know the drive must suck, but it is worth it.
Smiley Face – I always love pulling up and seeing you, your name speaks volumes and you are always an encouragement to our group.
Fin – Wow, you’re a inspiration to me. You’re a big fella and you work twice as hard as me, you’re dedicated to your goal and I love watching you getting where you’re going. Great job EH’ing your brother, I haven’t been able to accomplish that.
Chuckie – Brother, you have become a stud over the last few weeks, impressive running today!
Padeye – I’m impressed to come out everyday to see you standing there, I really didn’t expect to see you much more after you told me that you’re a Navy Vet… I kid I kid, you’re growing stronger everyday.
Dr. Ruth – Not going to lie, I still can’t get over your name, it is by far the best worst name given in the surrounding AOs. Great work today.
Dingo – Way to give it your all this morning.
Landry – Stay out of Race City, it’s much more lucrative in the Rock.
(FNG) Quaffle – I’m still a tad hesitant on that name, but if you’re down with it, we will drive on. Glad to have you back from Hogwarts.
(FNG) Devito – Sorry man, too bad they wouldn’t go the other way with the twins reference….. RUM HAM!
(FNG) Striker – Didn’t get to chat with you much, but you’re like 12, so i’m sure you did this workout with ease.
(FNG) HBC – Keep at it, tomorrow will be easier, eagles nest is waiting on you my friend.
Gentlemen, thank you for letting me lead you today.
Aye.
