Sixteen PAX braved the brisk morning for a little downPAINMENT at WEP. Some chatter how some PAX were impressed of those still wearing shorts (all two of us – myself and chicken wing). That decision to wear shorts on this fine 30 degree morning was contributed to one of two things; we’re that hard core or that stupid. You decide!

Warm up:
Mosey to the parking Lot on Massey St.
High Knees: 15 yds (down & back)
Butt Kicks: 15 yds (down & back)
Forward Lunge: 15 yds (down)
Backward Lunge: 15 yds (back)
Shuffle: 15 yds (down & back)

Jog/Sprint/Job: 15/15/15yds (down & back)
SSH: 30
Mountain climbers: 20
SSH: 20

The Thang
PAX divided into 4 groups. Each group had a station with an exercise, once reps were completed for one station, plank until all 4 groups were done. Completed 2 cycles with following exercises:
Cycle 1:

  • Squats: 50
  • Tuck Jumps: 50
  • Jump Lunges: 25 each leg
  • LBC’s

Cycle 2:

  • Merkins: 50
  • Freddy Mercury
  • Carolina Dry Docks: 50
  • Moroccan Nightclub

Oh, did I forget to mention SUDDEN CHANGE? Every time I felt like it, sudden change was called… All PAX stopped what where they were and ran to the middle of the parking lot and had to do burpees on my count every time I said “down”. There was a total of 7 “Sudden Changes” called with a total of 75 burpees completed. (kudos to Twister for best form)

Mosey back to WEP with a small detour of bear crawls.

THE N-DRILL: Simple football drill where 4 cones are setup in the shape of an “N”. We had 2 “N-Drills” setup for a little fun and friendly competition. Teams 1&3 vs Teams 2&4. Each PAX went head to head with another from the opposite team. Finding the winner was simple, “who can complete the N-Drill the fastest”. After several rounds and each PAX getting use to the drill, we did “Winner stay on” and “loser plank up or do an exercise” until we had one champion!

To everyone’s surprise CSPAN showed his “Old Man Speed & Tenacity” to make it in the final round with, well myself. In the end, old man speed wasn’t enough to take home the gold, but was respected!

Mosey to COT

Moleskin
As it stands, Indian Land still prevails as most athletic, hardcore, handsome, awesome group in the Fort Region… pulling yet another winner from our friendly competitions (Even though, some might call a little home field advantage with the drill selected coming from a tribesman in Indian Land). All joking aside, it’s always an honor to come back to WEP and lead a bunch of great men. As we go through our week remember this, “God’s Grace Defies Reason and Logic” and no matter what we do, He’s already paid the price for us!

Indian Land Shovel Flag Plant and Sausage Fest – 10/18

Come celebrate yet another expansion spawned from The Fort where not ONE but THREE shovel flags will be planted. The three flags planted are representative of the three workouts developed in Indian Land on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays (The Tomahawk, The Arsenal and The Reservation).

Following the tour of the new AO (code for an epic beatdown), there will be the inaugural Indian Land Sausage Fest starting at 0830 (Decibel, there will be BRATS!). This should allow enough time for the PAX posting in other AO’s to come join in the fun. Bring your own drinks and lawn chairs (NO ALCOLHOL – we are on school property – Sorry Trucker). For PAX coming from other AO’s, the sausage fest will be held in the parking lot shown in the screenshot below. Click here for directions.

If you’d like to contribute to the Festivities, please add what you’re going to bring to the spread sheet here. All PAX should have access and can see what others are bringing.

Lastly, don’t forget to EH friends, colleagues, neighbors or anyone else that might want to come out.

Is this going to be the longest warm-up ever? #84serpentine burpees

  • QIC: CSPAN
  • When: 09/27/14
  • Pax: 1-Niner, Bounty Hunter, & Beast (LIFO)
  • Posted In: The Reservation

3 strong showed up to see what I could deliver after a night of birthday party celebrating at “The Fort” convergence. This was my first Q at Indian Land, and I was not going to disappoint. #oldmanstrong

I kind of played going to the upper parking lot as part of my ploy, that maybe some PAX might need us to stay around basecamp, as their alarm clocks may have required an extra snooze or two, and we would need them to easily find us, but really I had no intention of ever leaving that lot. 60 minutes of pain or basically the longest warmup ever. No excuses or escape.

THE THANG:

There are 28 parking spaces across upper lot.

We started with normal warmups:

20 SSH

20 IW

20 Squats

20 Windmills

20 Moroccan Night Clubs

This workout was really based on 3 rotations of serpentine burpees at ever line going across the lot. The definition of a serpentine burpee, is a burpee including a leg jack, and both a single arm left and a single arm right plank. Seemed like an easy goal.

So in between those 3 rotations of burpees, I included a wide variety of down and backs, here are the highlights that included:

Bear crawl / lunge walk

Backwards bear crawl / backwards lunge walk

A variety of at sprints 50%, 60%, 70%, 85% & 100% forwards and backwards.

Crowd favorite was the hand release pushup at ever line…truly exhausting even by 1-Niner standards

Dance party favorite was SSH, IW, & squat at ever line…we looked like the worst line dancers in the west…followed by high knees with jazz heads, just because I knew we could not look any weirder…

ABLAB 100

LBC, Hello, Flutter & Rosa

EXTRA CREDIT – because Indian Land always goes “harder”

ABLAB 60

LBC, Hello, Flutter, & Rosa

Overall an extremely fun morning with 3 strong and fit F3 brothers as we sweated buckets…all about 50 feet from our cars…sometimes the best workouts are just that simple.

Where you at Pebbles?

Always an honor to Q, and appreciate being part of a great new AO, PAX in Indian Land understand F3…enough said.

Made myself sore…must have done something right,

The Reservation is LIVE!

Today, as the 6 tribesman embarked on yet another peice of land to call their home, we very quickly realized that The Reservation is one of the best AO’s to experience. Very well lit at 0515 and plenty of area to hunt and fish for new WO opportunities.

Warm Up

  • SSH x50
  • High Knees for 50 yards
  • Butt kickers for 50 yards
  • Karaoke for 100 yards
  • 1 mile Indian [Land] run – we have a new name for how the Indian run will be established on The Reservation – not your typical Indian run. Last man in line carries not 1, but 2 20lb Kettlebells and when YHC yells drop, man with Kettlebells drops and gives us 5 Burpees, grabs his Kettlebells and catches up with the group – crowd pleaser nonetheless.

The Thang

Upper Body Pyramid was the GAME the Tribesman were hunting for today.

Moleskin

Today’s workout was about making us stronger not only physically but also mentally and too always keep a positive attitude. A sudden reminder to this was the woman we all overheard screaming at the bus driver in the parking lot as we were all headed home. Reminder to us all, don’t sweat the little things (especially in the beginning of the day) as we should strive to remain positive in everything we do. You start your day positive, you will end your day positive. AYE!

Quick reminder to the those looking to post on a Thursday to The Reservation going forward. Once you turn on Doby’s Bridge Rd., please park in the parking lot first on your left – this way we can stay out of the bus compound. Saturdays are still good to park off of maintenance drive.

Have a solid rest of the week Indian Land, always a pleasure to lead this great (STRONG) group of guys!
