We had a great crew if vets and rookies out at Alacatraz.  This was a choose your own adventure work out.

We started with a mosey around the park with a stop every 1/3 of the lap for warm up exercises.

1st 1/3:  15 Windmill and 15 CDD  2nd 1/3:  15 Low slow squats and 15 Cherry Pickers Final 1/3:  IW x 15 and LBC x 20

4 Laps Around Park, 150 Merkins, 150 Abs, 150 Dips and 50 Pull Ups

Choose your reps and your order.

The men crushed it today and we had time for some wall time.

Mosey to the Wall:   Wall Sits while each man bear crawls 15 yards and back, Balls to the Wall with 7 Count Each Man, Rinse and repeat both.

Mosey to playground for some shirtless Broga with Change Order leading the way,

I appreciate each man that came out and gave it their all.

You Could’ve Stayed In Bed

WARMUP: Run the parking lot down and back, twice. 5 Jump Squats. 10 Merkins. 15 Mountain Climbers. 10 Windmills.
THE THANG: I’m not sure how much ground we covered but the intent was to get ~2mi plus a good workout to make getting out of bed worth it. After all, we have way too many guys staying in bed on a Saturday morning. Anyways, back to the topic at hand.
Line up on the left field line and bear crawl to the McDonald’s sign on the outfield fence. 20 Mountain Climbers. Bear crawl back for 20 more Mountain Climbers.
Run to the main hill on the back side. Run to the bottom, dodging deer, 5 burpees, NUR up the other side, 10 Carolina Dry Docks. Run back to the bottom for 5 Burpees then NUR up to the original start point for 10 more Carolina Dry Docks.
Head to the Pull-Up Bars:
Each PAX must complete 20 Pull-Ups and while you’re not doing Pull-Ups, you’re cycling through 10 Merkins and 20 American Hammers on repeat until everyone is done their Pull-Ups.
Head over to the 2nd most famous hill, Tara Tea Drive, again, dodging more deer.
Run to the bottom, 10 Jump Squats, run up, 10 Diamond Merkins. Complete 3 rounds.
Head to the field for a modified Jack Webb series:
1 WWII sit up : 4 Flutter Kicks. Complete all the way to 10:40.
Get on the line and run to the net and back.
Here’s the new one. Two lines, get in a plank position, head to toe. Man in the back does 5 Wide-Arm-Merkins then bear crawls to the front of the line (Indian Run style). Keep cycling through for about 50yds.
3-tier suicides.
MARY: Sprinkled in throughout the workout…that’s more my speed. We did finally close it out with Grave Diggers, Toe Touches and elbow planking.

COT: You should’ve been there. Our guys are carrying a lot these days. Head up, shoulders back, eyes clear and lean on each other as needed.

Honoring Noah

Cable guy took the full hour at Alcatraz. We started with a mosey down the street to the fire station and back. The FNG was running a little late and almost took us out with his vehicle, thus we named him Wipeout. Back to the parking lot. In Cadence exercises, all sets of 22 in memory of Noah, Cable Guy’s 2.0 who would have celebrated his 22nd birthday.
Continued with some partner sprints and sets of 22 merkins, squats, and Big Boys.

Zima Miles

It was dark. It was dank. Visibility was low, but the pain was high. After giving an overly thorough disclaimer, collecting everyone’s social security number, and signing a waiver, we were off for a quick mosey around the park.

7’s on the walking path. Merkins on top of the hill (not Chip Hill) and Squats at the bottom of the hill (again not Chip Hill). Mode of transportation was running.

Mosey over to the grass field for a Jack Webb. It was 1 lap around the field and 4 v-ups. We did a total of 10 laps and 220 v-ups. It was glorious.

Back to COT for stretching, announcements, prayers/praises. There was a meeting of the Bob’s at the Tega Cay Deli afterwards for some deep discussions over coffee.

Maximus look-a-like

WARMUP: windmills, low slow squats, IW
THE THANG: mossy to Anchorage Ln. Each PAX was being held accountable as the instruction was do 50 merkins and run to white mailbox at bottom of hill. You vs you as you can break up the 50 and run the hill as many times as you want. This is not a Dora partner WO. Most ran the hill 2xs, some 3. Next: 75 leg raises and you vs you. Finally 100 LBcs and you vs you. Mossy to parking lot so Fish “half” Stick could go home and crawl back into bed crying of running hills. Mossy to swings for 3 rounds of planks and 15 gas pumps using the swing. Mossy to trail near trash can. Pendulum series. One end 15 merkins, middle 10 leg raises, other end 15 squats. 4 rounds. Mossy to COT for Broga.

Ian Spawned Off A Sharknado As It Left Tega Cay

WARMUP: Moraccian Nightclubs, Overhead Claps, Peter Parkers, Hill Billy Walkers, Cherry Pickers and Sumo Squats all in reps from 7 – 10.

THE THANG: Today seemed like a appropriate time to bring back out a workout that is a real ass kicker that I haven’t done in awhile. It’s called Sharknado. The running part is meant to be done in a relatively flat parking lot but since Alcatraz is where real men post I figured we needed to throw some Tega Cay hills in the mix. We started on a street in a neighborhood but after several dogs started barking at us running back and forth on the hill we decided to Omaha over to a even steeper hill with less houses. Here’s how Sharknado goes

Start with 10 burpees followed by a run up the hill and back.
Next 20 Hand Release Merkins run up and back
20 Big Boy Sit Ups run up and back
20 Monkey Humpers run up and back
20 Scorpion Dry Docks run up and back

Goal is try to make it through 5 rounds. 2 achieved 5 rounds the others completed 4 rounds and some change.
This workout sucks and will test even the fittest of Pax. Total of 2.5 miles of hills.

MARY: We returned to COT for 10 minutes of stretching which we found out Fishstix needs much more of in his life. There was much moaning and groaning for this segment of my Q.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Bourbon Tasting, Skeet Shoot and Golf Tournament are all coming up for D2D fundraiser.
COT: Prayers for some Pax injured while running Bourbon Chase this weekend and their safe return home. Prayers for Pax in Florida and others we don’t know that got devastated from Ian. Let us be a huge support for them.

Uphill NURing and lots of webs

We had 11 Bootcampers and 2 runners, quick disclaimer before getting into the warm up.

Mosey to pull-up bars and plank. Waterfall of 5 pull-ups, and then back down the waterfall.

Mosey to bottom of Tara Tea and partner up.

NUR uphill and run back while partner completes

200 – flutters

Back to the baseball field for some core, legs and upper body webs:

CORE
Captain Thor, 1 big boy sit-up – 4 American hammers, run 10 yards; 2 BBSU – 8 AH, run 10 yards; 3 BBSU – 12 AH, run 10 yards… repeat until completion of 10 BBSU – 40 AH
Total: 55 BBSU and 220 AH

Take a lap around the field.

LEGS
1 squat – 4 calf raises, run 20 yards; 2 squats – 8 calf raises, run 20 yards; 3 squats – 12 calf raises, run 20 yards… repeat until completion of 10 squats – 40 calf raises.
Total: 55 squats – 220 calf raises

Take a lap around the field.

UPPER BODY
Lots of mumble chatter while explaining this one, no running in between series this time
1 merkin – 4 shoulder taps; 2 merkins – 8 shoulder taps; 3 merkins – 12 ST; took a brake after 5-20, then another brake after 7-28 and YHC had already lost count and whining came into the game so as a crowd pleaser we repeated 7-28… finished up with 10 merkins – 40 shoulder taps.
Total: 62 merkins – 248 shoulder taps

We had a couple of minutes to go back to COT with smoked shoulders and Badlands thought it was a good idea to keep doing merkins, add 10 IC to the count. 9 for YHC, apparently my watch was out of whack and alerted me it was 0730.
