The Q Source Statement: “Articulation is the second of the four Leadership Skills. It is the act of describing Vision to others so they can understand it.”

The 3 Core Spurs (Takeaways):

  1. Every person can articulate, but most choose not to.
  2. Articulation is a skill that improves with practice.
  3. Articulation is about understanding, not liking.

Principle 1: Men often keep their visions locked in their heads due to fear of failure, lack of confidence, or pure laziness.

Principle 2: Articulation is not a genetic gift reserved for charismatic orators; it is a leadership muscle that must be broken down and rebuilt through deliberate practice.

Principle 3: Articulation is successful when your people comprehend the destination, even if they dislike the discomfort required to get there. Persuasion and buy-in come next, but clarity must come first.

Willowbrook loop

WARMUP:
THE THANG:
Run to willowbrook neighborhood. Loop the hood and back down 6th and head toward oak ridge elementary. Stop for a quick prayer for the start of school and back to COT.

Rock n Roll

6 Pax showed up to take on the morning gloom. Cooler weather for a SC July was welcomed.


WARMUP:
COP usuals: SSH, IW, HW, squats, windmills, cherry pickers, arm circles
THE THANG:

Thang 1: bear crawl down, 10 merkins. Crawl bear back, 10 merkins. Squat walk down, 10 squats. Reverse squat walk back. 10 squats. Repeat but swapped out lunge walks.

Thang 2: mosey to the rock pile. Dora with rocks. Partner up. 100 rock curls 100 overhead press. 200 flutter kicks with rock above. Runner goes down to traffic circle and back.

Run back to COT

Playground Fun

WARMUP:
Snooker lead us through a series of in-place warm-ups, including great hits like "Buttkickers", "High-Knees", and "Good Mornings".

THE THANG:
Moseyed on the trail about 1/4 around the park, stopping at the swinging benches for some burpees.

At the playground, we partnered up. Partner 1 did a stationary exercise, while partner 2 ran around the playground. Flap-jack. Stationary exercises were as follows;

1. Merkins
2. Heels to heaven
3. Swing crunches
4. Box Cutters
5. Pull ups
6. Shoulder Taps
7. Freddie Mercury s
8. CDDs
9. CDDs ( feet elevated above head)
10. LBCs
11. Seal jacks
12. Flutters
13. Burpees

Lined up for railroad tracks across the field.
Moseyed down to the new turf for Jack Webbs.
Sat on the wall for some Jack Reachers
2 minutes of Mary.

Prison Break

Lap around the parking lot, back to the parking spaces behind COT. Each Pax stayed inside there parking space and performed a series of exercises. Once completed, we ran a lap and began another set of exercises. The exercises were the following: SSHs, curb hops, Mike Tyson’s, bear crawl, crawl bear. Grave diggers, and CDDs.
We had some time left over at the end to do some stone exercises 1 minute of each: curls, overhead press, and squat thrusters.
Back to COT.

THE THANG:

  1. Golf Course 11s – “Laces Out” – Merkins and Squats
  2. Wall Sits – “Do NOT go in there.” One guy at a time crab walks to end of patio and back.
  3. Hill climbs – “Like a Glove!”

5 cycles – 10 reps Plank Jacks at Bottom, 10 reps Seal Jacks at Top
5 cycles – 10 reps CDDs at Bottom, 10 reps Shoulder Taps at Top
4. 4 corners – “Excuse me. May I ass you a few questions.”
20 reps each, repeat 4x: Bobby Hurleys, Calf Raises, Squats, Monkey Humpers

Impossible Island Hopping

WARMUP: moseyed with some stops along the way. No feedback on the cadence calling. The PIP I was on was in full effect. Finished with Bonnie Blairs X 10.
THE THANG: In honor of The Pirate, a 4 corners, 20 reps at each corner. Merkins, Derkins, Heels to Heaven, and Big Boys.

Mosey and Sprints 2X to length of the parking lot changing pace at every island. Another idea taken from Pirate.

Picked two islands to do an Impossible Mile:
First Lap: Burpee Broad Jumps
Second Lap: Lunge Walk
Third Lap: Bear Crawl
Fourth Lap: Mosey.

Everyone LOVED the Impossible Mile.

Truly an honor to GET TO share doing difficult things with these men.
