Inspiration: Lead Courageously
Deacon gave us some strong words on leading courageously. Lord Chesterfield mentions this as he states “Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.” Don’t leave yourself on the shore due to the fear of what lies ahead.

23 PAX ascended onto The Patriot for a morning tour of the park. It started with a Deacon-led mosey to Field 3 (F3) for our warm up. He used this opportunity as a time to have a little Q-School as a few of the Rock Hill-faithful stepped up.

Inspiration: Pride vs. Humility – The world is pulling us to pride by defining success as the person that is the fastest, strongest, richest, smartest, etc however God calls us to focus on Humility. Pride is the void of God in your life and Humility is the void of the world in your life. Stay close to God through prayer, reading the bible, listening to his prompts and acting as his hands and feet. AYE!

Only in Rock Hill…a fire baton twirling greeter

  • QIC: CSPAN & Posh
  • When: 08/02/14
  • Pax: Peach, Tatanka, Fusion, Dream House, Italian Job, Posh, CSPAN, Mayhem
  • Posted In: Uncategorized

8 PAX posted at The Patriot in Rock Hill this cool August 2, 2014 morning with a bit of fall in the air.

Only in Rock Hill – we were greeted by a fire baton twirling dude on the opposite end of the football field, did I mention the batons were on fire…wow…several jokes later we started off…might have had some good Bogie jokes from last Thursday in there as well…excellent mumblechatter

The CSPAN Thang:

  • A very short “Variety Show” walking warm up.
  • Followed by a slow forward and backwards jog around the school parking lot
  • COP-SSH, IW, Squats, Wind Mills, 5 burpee OYO
  • Long Plank series (because my elbow hurts) to include Mountain Climbers, Peter Parker, Parker Peters, and CDD + 5 burpee OYO
  • Line up on for Arkloader across parking lot that included, bear crawl, lunge walk, bunny hop, frogger, duck walk… el’repeato with forwards and backwards…pretty awful, Q at this point reminded everyone that is why we are here, and if it was easy nobody would show up…+ some bomb jacks about something
  • Line up on stop sign, sprint down and back for 9 minutes…not awful but Posh is really fast…we did not have much for him today, Mayhem and Italian Job kept him honest…
  • Wall sits for multi counts followed by SSH, IW, and squats…rinse & repeat…about 3 full times
  • Prayer and hand off to Posh

The Posh Thang:

  • Short mosey to soccer field
  • 12 dips, 12 derkins sprint across field for 5 burpee OYO…rinse & repeat about 3 times
  • Plank up for frogger down the field over the planksters…only 8 guys…took us awhile to get there
  • COP to include a variety of painful reps, the 50 Freddy’s really stand out for me…all good stuff, fast and in cadence, PAX all stepped up and tried to keep up with Posh
  • Short run to the hill by the road, up and down sequence to include 3 revolutions followed by 3 burpees OYO…3 cycles of that, nobody honked at us and no catcalls…just saying we were looking good doing it…

Slow short mosey to COT except for Posh and I who tried to “burn it down”:

Naked Man Moleskin

Around the horn for prayer requests

Read your F3 newsletter – a bunch of activities

Labor Day Doubledown

Peach is going on a mission trip – praise and prayers for him

Mayhem is moving next weekend + he needs some help = watch tweets

Drink plenty of water and remember to be a better man today than you were yesterday.

Fifteen men gathered around the shovel flag at beautiful Cherry Park for another installment of the Patriot.  Here is what they did:

The THANG

One-niner at the Q
Slow Mosey from parking lot to field 2
COP – Never stop moving was the name of the game. Keep running in place between exercises with NO 10 Counts
25 Side Straddle Hops
21 Squats
20 Windmills
20 Moroccan Night Clubs
Plank
Slow Wide Merkin
Slow Merkin
Slow Military Merkin
Slow Mosey to parking lot in front of playground
Around the parking lot (around the bases) – 4 Rounds
Round 1:

30 Merkins
20 Dips
Round 2:
10 Burpees
40 Mason twist
30 Wide Merkins
20 Dips
Round 3:
10 Burpees
40 Mason Twist
20 Military Merkins
20 Dips
Round 4:
10 Burpees
40 Mason Twist
15 Diamond Merkins
20 Dips
Hand off to Senator Tressel
Start with a couple 10 counts to catch some O2 (One-niner denied the Pax any!)
Head up the trail in the woods to the top of the hill- 10 donkey kicks, run back down to the parking lot and keep running in a circle until all make it back down – no stopping.
Repeat the hill two more times, up/down, circle at bottom, with 10 bomb jacks, then 10 sumo squats at the top.
Head back in to the park in search of the big rocks for the Rockhopper – no luck finding them so the Q made an audible.
Run back to Field 2 or Field 1 (couldn’t remember, this place is big) and split into two groups and partner up
Group 1, wheelbarrow up the stairs with your partner, walk down and flapjack, bear crawl to start point.
Group 2, partner carry to approximately mid field, flapjack, and partner carry back to start point.
Swap groups so everyone wheelbarrows up the stairs and carries a partner.
Short plank/CDD x 10/6″ sequence
Slow (the only way to do them) LBC’s x 20
Gravedigger L and R, 10 each side.
Run back to the park (attempt at an Indian Run fell apart due to lost Q)
COT
It was a beautiful morning at an absolutely gorgeous location for F3.   T-claps to One-niner for a confident and strong first Q on limited sleep.  He’s a new dad  and sent YHC and email at 4:12 am this morning – enjoy your nap today, young man.  YHC had to make a couple audibles this morning due to time constraints and getting a little lost in the park – this place is huge!
We had four FNG’s this morning – awesome!  There was a lot of cardio today and they all toughed it out and finished.  Well done, men.   Welcome Catfish, Clark Kent, Fusion and Oprah (you are welcome).  Had a blast Qing at the park today and look forward to returning soon.  F3 is alive and well in Rock Hill.  Let’s keep it rolling.
Announcements:
July 13 (tomorrow).  Come to WEP 2p for F3 Fleetball
July 26 – Convergence at the Patriot with the Fort.  Good workout and stay for coffee afterwards.  Alcatraz will run it’s normal Saturday workout.
Sep 26  – The Fort Invergence, our 2 year anniversary party at the Rush Pavillion in Springs
Fall mud run – Jeff Smith (Tatanka) is looking for mud run team mates.
Our brother Menthol was injured (knee) during a Wed workout.   Heal quickly, brother.

Totals were cumulative – pain was collaborative.

15 Seal Team Sit ups to close us out. Strong workout this morning. I’m sure I’ll be feeling it tomorrow.

COT: Today the Rock Hill crowd was the majority of the group. Great job showing up, pushing hard, and bringing others. Keep up the good work.

Remember to go online to F3Nation.com to register for the fall USMC Mud Run. We’d like to have at least 750 F3 PAX in attendance.

Pulp has a bible study starting up. Reach out to him for details.

Keep an eye out for the email listing some other upcoming events. Great work today fellas. Let’s continue to strive to be better men, brothers, co-workers, bosses, sons, uncles, husbands, and dads. We are the leaders in our communities.

We are F3!
