Early Morning Mosey to the Coop

We are all creatures of habit.  My typical Wednesday morning routine is to roll out of bed at 5:10 and zip down the street to Pantheon which is about mile away. This morning, I got up a little earlier and crossed over I-85 to the Coop.  Awesome location with many workout options.

After a short disclaimer, we moseyed to the basketball court near the elementary school for the following warm-up exercises:

SSH (x25)

Imperial Walkers (x15)

Windmills (x15)

Merkins (x10 with 6″ Hold)

Mountain Climbers (x10)

Plank (with 6″ hold)

Next, we moseyed to the bottom of the hill for Murph practice.

Partner 1 – Run to top of the hill, 10 pull-ups,  and back down the hill

Partner 2 – Merkins until Partner 1 returns

Rinse and Repeat

Next, we moseyed to the front of the school for some cone work, the Accumulator (Thanks for the idea, White Lightning!)

Each cone had an exercise on it.  Complete the exercise, run a lap.  Rinse and Repeat, accumulating each exercise.

Cones in order:

20 Squats, 20 Merkins, 20 Flutter Kicks, 20 Plank Punches, 20 LBCs, 10 America Hammers, 20 Carolina Dry Docks, 10 Burpees, 20 Leg Lunges.

Great job by everyone, especially MacGyver who seem to be ten steps ahead of everyone.

Announcements:

5/29 – Tega Cay 5K

5/30 – Murph at the NAFO High School after normal  workouts

Prayer Requests:

Whittler –  Wife battling RH

So-Crates – Challenges with leadership

Safe travels over the holiday weekend

Graduates and their future

It is always an honor to Q.  I appreciate the opportunity.

As we began, we talked about this new AO. It is a new location, new atmosphere, some new PAX. Just as this AO is an expansion/new creation of Rock Hill AO’s, Scripture tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17,”if ANYONE is IN CHRIST, he is a NEW creation, the Old is gone and the New has come.” Just as a new AO is unlike another AO and is “set apart,” if we are followers of Christ, we are to be set apart…new creations. The “old me” no longer exists because I have been made new by our gracious Savior and His redemption THROUGH His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave. People should see us live our lives and say “there is something different about that guy, and I want what he has,” and “those men have been with Jesus!” (Acts 4:13)

4-some for 9 holes of golf

  • QIC: Spider-Man & Santini
  • Pax: Spider-Man, Santini, Decibel, Smuggler
  • Posted In: Alcatraz

We were light in numbers but that didn’t mean we were going to lighten up on anything YHC and Santini had planned.

Warm up:

  • Mosey around the park
  • SSH X25
  • Windmills X10
  • Merkin X20
  • Imperial Walker X15
  • Mosey from the parking lot to the 2nd tee box with toy solders mixed in

9 holes of golf:

  • Starting at the top of the hill we would run down the hill to the “green” which was the flat part of the cart path about half way down the fairway.
  • Perform 9 burpees
  • run back to the top of the hill by the tee box
  • Perform 1 merkin
  • Continue this series in decending burpee order and increasing merkin order…9 trips back and forth

Enough of that fun time for Santini to take over.

Mosey back to the parking lot and find a bench.  Santini recently had a friend who completed a SEAL training course.  One thing his friend told him about was tactical breathing.  This portion of the workout was designed to teach us how to live in the now.  YHC will not be able to fully convey the message delivered by Santini at the post but it was appreciated and timely!!  So next time Santini is on Q, you need to POST!!

We completed series of tactical breathing between sets of dips, merkins, bomb jacks and sprints to the end of the parking lot and back.

As always, an honor to Q.  Thank you Senator Tressel for the opportunity!

24 PAX arrived at The Loard’s House AKA Padre’s House of Pain. YHC was thinking I’d get there early and plan my course of action and here our brothers of RH are already parked and ready to roll. I found it amazing how much PHOP has grown and overall RH growth. Well done men and keep the EHing going. So the mumble chatter commenced until the kick off time and away we went.

The Thang:

2 lap mosey around the building and then COP

Plank series, squats, windmills, parker peters, Imperial Walkers, Mountain climbers

Pick up Coupons and mosey to other Parking Lot

  • 50% jog Down and back, Over head press with block, Squats X 3
  • 75% jog Down and back, Over head press with block, Squats X 3

YHC pulled up to chat with the PAX about the Storms we face and where to do run to when facing the storms. Storms like rough marriages, loss of child, loss job or house may seem like the world is coming down on top of us. When Jesus told the disciples to get into the boat and we will go to the other side, they did as he commanded. A storm came in that was really rough and they were scared to death. Jesus said to them, did I not say we would go to the other side?? I did not say I would get half way and we would die or I’d leave you hanging, but rather I will get you to the other side!! We are never promised a smooth flight or sailing in this life, but what we are promised is that our every need will be provided, including getting through the storms of our life. Run to Sky Q in your storm….don’t look anywhere else!

Mosey to front Grass for four corners

  • Plank walk to the short sides
  • Sprint the long sides
  • Perform exercises on the cones
  • 2 times around
    • 10 Dry Docks
    • 10 Inch Worm Merkins
    • 15 Mtn Climbers
    • 15 Ski Hops

Back to Parking Lot for 8 mins of Roll the Dice. My 2.0 wanted us to try this so we gave it a try

  • Roll the dice and multiple by 10 for # of reps
    • 1 = Burpees = 10
    • 2 = Merkins = 20
    • 3 = LBCs = 30
    • 4 = Imperial Walkers = 40
    • 5 = Monkey Humpers = 50
    • 6 = SaideStraddle Hops = 60
  • We made it a couple of rounds. Was a good cool down

Mosey to COT

Was great seeing all the new faces and some familiar ones. Always honored and humbles to Q especially in Rock Hill with our brothers. F3 is so cool because of the relationships we build. I know and belong to a group of guys across our whole region whom I would never know if it were not for F3. Its better that any networking or social club and the relationships are real…no ulterior motive but to get better together!

Hog and Coyote…..Sign Up and do it! Its fun!!

Lots of Prayers and Praises, but one I want to mention is Mailman and his family leading North Rock Hill Church until a pastor arrives. We laid hands on Mailman and I ask that the PAX continue to lift him up as he courageously leads that congregation. Peace Brother!

Thank you again Riddler. Thank you my brothers of the gloom and always Finish Strong!!!

Recon The Maze

  • QIC: RealTree
  • When: 5/25/16
  • Pax: Legoland, chappie, Nunchuk, Drydock, Apache
  • Posted In: Uncategorized

6 highly impact men went on a Recon for a possible AO Clover High School with RealTree leading the leaders of York and YHC around a campus that is truly aMAZING

We needed no disclaimer for it was instructed that we were all seasoned veterans of this f3nation Thang.

With that being said

We moseyed around to the middle school football field, which in football field standards it was aMAZING,

The Qstick was given to Drydock he had us do a series of moseying back and forth across the aMAZING field and ended up with 3/4 of a mile run with SSH in the process

We moseyed while the Q stick was passed from pax to pax and different snot woggler events followed.

As the beatdown continued , we came to the conclusion that this aMAZING potential  AO is put together like a Maze that you can really get lost in with the lack of oxygen from bearcrawls, Ltd Dan’s, and merkins and more merkins

We ended in our COT and gave praises to Legoland for how far he has come in his F3 journey and the brothership the F3York gents have, and prayers for our brother DABO on the lost of his father

It’s a true honor to be able to travel our great region and meet and be affected positively by so many individuals that come together to be one strong group of HIMS the brothership is alive and well thru out our region.  There is nothing truly like it.

Pre-Blast for Memorial Day MURPH “FunHouse FunRun”

If you don’t know by now, The Fort will be conducting the Annual Memorial Day Murph at NAFO high school (The Coop and Varsity AO).  This is a great opportunity to work out with The PAX to honor our service men and women. Post to your regular AO, then head over to NAFO for the double-down.  In addition to the workout, there will be awards handed out to those who perform at the top of the group.

However, there is one award that perked my ears, the Funhouse Pull Up award.  I assumed this award was for the PAX who increased their pull up count exponentially from the last go around (go search the last Fitness Test).  This was not the case.  ‘Casa de diversion’ (modified pull-up version aka the FUNHOUSE award)…..  “Don’t fall short, if you cannot or do not have a vest at least strive to perform your pull-ups without variation or as we stated above – try not to perform a #Funhouse so start working on those pull-ups today – you have time!”  So yes, YHC likes to modify.  Especially a freaking pull up. So why not “modify” the MURPH with a typical “FunHouse FunRun”?  Call it a triple-down.

So if you’re not afraid of modifying (CSPAN I see your “burpees” so I KNOW you love to modify) join me for this THANG:

Memorial Day – Monday, May 30th 0430

Start (Leg #1): 0430 at Trailhead Park in Tega Cay for a run to Flight Plan (Baxter Startbucks) ~ 4.2 miles

Leg #2: Flight Plan 0515 (YHC the Q) – I will find a suitable 4.5 mile loop that will get everyone ready to go do the MURPH- Total so far ~ 8.7 miles

Leg #3: Run to NAFO 0600 – There will be little time for COT at Flight Plan for those on the #FunRun, so I may hand this off to someone staying behind.  We must get on our horses and head out to make the 5.5 miles to NAFO in 50 minutes before the MURPH starts. The route is down 160 and take a left on 21 and then a right on 460 to NAFO. – Total so far ~ 14.2 miles

Leg #4: The MURPH – 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats and a final 1 mile run. Ugh. So final total mileage ~ 16.2 miles

So join YHC to “modify” your typical day.

107 pax posted to workouts today across the region — thanks to all the pax at The Ballroom today for taking the #DRP! #TheFortCounts

Shout out to McGruff who’s hanging tough as he regains form from months of recovery — great to have you back in the gloom!

Solid effort from Wildcat on his VBC (Virgin Boot Camp) after posting Monday as FNG at Flight Plan — welcome aboard!

It was a pleasure to be graced by the presence of Sen T, thanks to a late start that did not allow time for him to make it to WEP.  Second fiddle is still in the orchestra!

Today felt a little like a music festival as we toured the smaller stages leading up to the marquee lights at Publix with Barry Manilow and Culture Club in tow.

The brief message today focused on Truth — especially the Truth that exists deep in our hearts.  It is a challenge to listen for the Truth in the heart (which is rooted in goodness) and avoid being distracted by the Voices in our heads.  Since the theme for May is marriage, the challenge to the pax is to listen for Truth as it relates to marriage and don’t let the negative voices keep us from appreciating the love that is the center of the relationship with our Ms.

Thanks to Change Order for the opportunity to Q — always an honor and a privilege!
