18 Pax at The Ranch for another WhatDid Q. I don’t have many under my belt, but each one gives me another opportunity to be a better leader and for that, thank you Spider Man and the fellow Pax for playing along.

After giving an abbreviated and unrehearsed warning and disclaimer as no FNG’s were present, I got us underway with an immediate set of 5 burpees.
Then we moseyed to soccer field for a little warm up. Lining up at the base of the soccer field we:
Knee stretch down to the other side of field
Karaoked back and forth down the field
Toy Solders down the field
20 SSH IC
20 Windmills IC
Then we mosey down to the driveway where we lined up for sprints down the driveway stopping at the speed bumps and rotating 10 Burpees and 20 LBC at each speedbump.
Once finished we moseyed over to the parking lot to hit the cones of pain. We hit four cones 3X and here’s what was in store.
Cone 1:
Wide arm merkins – 20
Right Arm dry docks – 10
Dips – 20
Cone 2:
Diamond push ups – 20
Left arm dry docks – 20
Merkins – 20
Cone 3:
Carolina dry docks – 20
Shoulder taps – 20
Ranger Merkins – 10
Cone 4:
Merkins – 20
Bomb Jacks – 20
Diver bombers – 10
Once done, and at the call of the pax, we sprinted to the playground and paired up and did:

20 Swing Knee tucks & 20 Squats
Then we headed over to the school wall for:
Wall Chair Squats
Balls to the walls w/ 5 shoulder pushups
Wall Chair Squats and rotated leg lifts
Balls to the walls w/ 5 shoulder pushups
Then back over to the soccer field to wrap it up by lunging down the field halfway then sprinting the remaining. Then, with the help of Whoppner, we did some abs;
20 Freddies
20 LBC
20 Hello Dollys
20 flutter kicks

Moleskin
 The QIC showed up late for the pre-run and met 3 other pax running back from their 3 miler. Impressive, always impressive!

Great work this morning, PAX. Thanks for humoring me with my off the cuff exercises. Something tells me that hill will make an appearance again in the near future. Always an honor to share the Gloom with you guys.

Welcome back, Aqualung. Two Thursdays in a row. Glad you are back with us.
Turbine and Bogey, enjoy your men’s retreat this weekend. Stay warm.
Bull, good work today. There is no quit in you!
Reborn, proud of the leader you are. Thanks for the constant support and encouragement for the PAX.
Waterboy, losing weight and getting faster. You da man!
Beaker did his best Padre impression today dropping additional Burpees on us as an ab exercise.
Schrute, always good to have your leadership on display.
Mayhem, glad to have you back. Now that the temps are above 40, we expect to see you a few days a week.

Kobe Retires then Drops the Bomb on LILO

Nice Spring morning at WEP. 11 showed up. 4 decided a run was a better idea than a bootcamp lead by YHC. One of those was Zima. Just wish for once that Zima would post to my Q instead of going for a run #scared Nice long disclaimer was given and off 7 of us went.

The Thang

Big lap around the park with butt kicks, high, knees, toy soldiers and knee pulls. Circle up at the parking lot for COP

In Honor of Kobe:

SSH x 60 (cause he dropped 60 points in his last game)
Windmills x 20 (played all 20 seasons for the Lakers)
IW x 24
Merkins x 8
Mountain Climbers x 24
Peter Parkers x 8

Mosey over to Big Parking lot across from the gun shop. 20ish minute AMRAP 4 corner workout. First corner 8 Merkins, second corner 24 Squats, third corner 8 Carolina Dry Docks, fourth corner 24 LBC’s.

After 20ish minutes we moseyed down the big hill and over to short wall in front of the Synergy building. 8 Derkins, 24 dips. Rinse and repeat. Then 8 box jumps onto the wall, followed by 24 stepups (12 each leg). Rinse and Repeat. Mosey back to WEP for COT.

Announements – 3rd F tomorrow morning at Eternal Church offices at 6:10 AM, topic of Fatherhood. Fastest 5k on May 21st.

Prayers – Zima’s 2.0 and issues at school.

Moleskin
1. Once we got 60 SSH, they wanted to go to 100. Well Kobe didn’t score 100 last night so we stopped at 60.
2. Pebbles is a beast, I think he lapped the group about 10 times during the AMRAP. He may have been just running. I never saw him doing any of the exercises.
3. Beacon shaved.
4. I’m honestly not that big of a fan of Kobe, but I have to respect everything that he has accomplished in his 20 year career. The fact that he played 20 years for 1 team is one of the things that impresses me the most about Kobe, especially in this day and age when players jump ship left in right for more money/to win/don’t like the coach/input other excuse. To play for one team through good and bad says alot.
5. In case you don’t remember the Charlotte Hornets drafted Kobe Bryant and then traded him to the Lakers. For Vlade Divac.
6. Thanks Twister for the opportunity to lead this morning.

Till next time #getbetter

Longshanks out

Pain Pervades Pantheon Pax

  • QIC: Chaser
  • When: 04/13/16
  • Pax: Decibel, Speaker, Howitzer, Short Sale, Funhouse, Hauschka, Bart, Witch Hunt, Fish Sticks, Aquaman, Snooki, Puddles, Qwerty, Mr. T
  • Posted In: Pantheon

14 ready Pax and perfect weather awaited YHC for another run at Q at #Pantheon. It was dark and outlines of the Pax was about the best I could make out before I noticed a beam of light heading in our direction…based on speed alone, I guessed a shooting star but alas, ’twas Aquaman rolling in to the gloom hot from a little EC run. So, after a quick FNG check (none) and a disclaimer (lackluster), we headed off into the gloom.

Counterclockwise mosey around the main parking lot/drop off area with a healthy mix of butt kicker, high knees, side shuffles, knee pulls and ankle pulls before heading over to the back parking lot to circle up and warm up…

Warm-Up: 10 WM, Plank series, 20 SSH, 10 Low Slow Squats, 20 Slooooow Merkins, Maybe something else, I forget..

THE THANG (partner up):

Round #1 (200 Merkins): Partner #1 completes Burpee broadjumps from one island to the next (approx. 40 yrds) then moseys back around to Partner #2 to continue chipping away at the 200 Merkins.

Round #2 (200 Squats): Partner #1 completes Inchworms from one island to the next (approx. 40 yrds) then moseys back around to Partner #2 to continue chipping away at the 200 Squats.

Round #3 (300 LBCs): Partner #1 completes Gator Merkins from one island to the next (approx. 40 yrds) then moseys back around to Partner #2 to continue chipping away at the 300 LBCs – CROWD PLEASER!

Mosey over to the 3-leveled Amphitheater – one of my favorite locations of any Fort AO

Round #1: Bearcrawl up level 1, Backwards bearcrawl up level 2, Bearcrawl up level 3 – 10 Burpees at the top then mosey back down

Round #2 Sprint to the top – 10 Hand release Burpees then mosey back to the bottom

RINSE & REPEAT

Mosey back to the COT to stick the landing at 0600.

Time flew by this morning and that was all we got to despite a few more fun twists awaiting on the mental Weinke…Great work by all involved and an absolutely perfect morning in the gloom!

Thanks as always for the honor to lead such a group of HIMs. Truly a pleasure.

15 men came with an appetite for pain this Tuesday morning at the Golden Corral.  The temps were perfect and a great crowd had assembled ready to get to work.

The Thang:  Mosey around HT with some high knees, butt kickers, side shuffles, etc

COP:  SSH, Bobby Hurley’s, IW, Cherry Pickers, Mountain Climbers, 6″, Peter Parkers, 6″, 6″

Mosey over to church parking lot…(Have we ever been there?)                                               Round 1- Upper Body – Merkin Suicides starting at 20 going to 1.  (10-6 Wide Arm merkins, 5-1                       Diamond merkins)                                                                                                           Round 2- Lower Body – Jog to end of parking ring and sprint the other end.  30 single leg lunges                     off the curb in cadence each leg.  Rinse and repeat 3 times                                               Round 3- More Upper Body – Circle up for 50 MNCs, 20 CDD, 30 MNCs all in cadence

5 MOM – round robin style

COT: This workout left me sore for a couple of days!  Hopefully it had a lasting effect on the pax as well.  My plan was to do the Merkin suicides from 15, but when I saw the caliber of pax this morning I knew I had to go big!  Total was 210, give or take.  The single leg lunges off the curb added a little extra range of motion (pain).  Thank you to the M for coming up with that one.  Those FIA exercises are no joke!  Tclaps to Spiderman and Funhouse for the extra credit miles before hand.  And for Tweety on his second post ever!  No one could catch Fishsticks this morning.  #FastTwitch  It seemed like every sprint someone took their best shot but no one could take him down.  Great mumble chatter today, no surprise since DH was in attendance.
