NO SURPRISE NO SHOW

Philippians 3:13-14

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Perseverance is something that is not taught, but always in you deep until your mind recognizes it and your soul understands how to use it for good.

This AO has been challenging lately and my injury has not helped to have people accountable. I’m going to continue my efforts on what I can and understand to do which is to never give up and persevere even if it includes drastic changes for the good.

SERIOUSLY…LEADERS…listen close…

As Leaders…inevitably you will encounter something that does not go according to plan… this morning it was my Q at Bushwood.  In short, no one showed….even the site Q opted for the “other workout” (in fairness, he had a good reason 😂) – a kettlebell beatdown by Sasquatch at SnakePit.  

LEADERS…be NIMBLE.  Be willing to ADAPT.  

For me…I grabbed a bell and deferred to Squatch!

BTW…my weinke today only had one exercise… it was going to be a 45 min body destroyer 😉

Bushwood Zipper

WARMUP: Short mosey around the south end of the parking lot then circle up for the following:
10 ea
* SSH
* WM
* IW
* MNC
* Strawberry pickers
Then on to the main event
THE THANG:
Bushwood zipper. No field trip anywhere. Start right where we finished warmups. Borrowed a theme from Minnow Pond – the zipper. Do a set of exercises, then run down the entire length of a parking aisle to the end, then repeat set of exercises, then run down the entire length of the next parking aisle. Repeat until we covered the entire parking lot.
Exercises:
5 burpees
10 box cutters
15 merkins
20 mountain climbers (2ct)
Overall about a mile running and 50 burpees, 100 box cutters, 150 merkins, 200 mountain climbers (2ct)

Next, partner up for a Dora of
100 LBCs
200 squats
300 flutters (2ct)
Runner did a loop that was approx 200-300m.
We all finished everything, so we did an Indian Run back to COT just in time to meet up with the gear guys from Snake Pit.

MARY: 3D led about a minute or so of ab-lab.

Tour De Bushwood

WARMUP: Indian run around CRHS, back of the line performs 3 burpees before sprinting to the front of the line. Bobber’s choice to wear a 20# vest was quickly in question.
THE THANG: Two parts
FIRST: Four level block wall by the tennis courts were used to do 5 box jumps, 5 derkins per level for one set, the second was 5 step ups each leg followed by irkins. Third set was box jumps.

SECOND: Since it was 1/11, 11’s was the name of the game for the second part of the workout. The route was the bottom of the hill next to the football stadium up to the midway point (garage area). Burpees at the bottom and bomb jacks at the top.

Ran around a bit.
Did some lightpole cupcake 7s on the hill leading to the stadium AND four corners

Changed exercises each time, often querying Band Camp for an exercise and them modified it up. Got 3+ miles

WARMUP: We did some warming up
– SSH, Windmills, mild stretching

THE THANG:
– Mosey to upper lot toward entrance
• At every island (10) do 5 merkins to the other side of the lot – SSH for the 6

-Mosey to front of school
• Partner carry to end of the school – switch at the flagpoles – SSH for the 6

– Mosey around corner
• At path, bear crawl to first path then switch and crawl bear to the island – SSH for the 6

– Mosey to pull up bars
• Pax do SSH while each person does 5 dead hang pullups – For every pullup you can’t do – 3 burpees penalty

– Mosey to the benches around the corner
• Dips on the benches, In cadence – 20

– Mosey toward the hill, and is that a wall to scale?
• Yup, over the wall – 5 CDD – repeat 3 times

– Mosey up the hill to the little building on the right
• Stairway to 7 – Run to 1st parking space line, 1 burpee, back to start — run to next line, 2 burpees…
• Add one burpee each line until complete

– Mosey to front of stadium
• More partner carries and more bear crawls

YHC was reminded yesterday that someone is always watching you. Whether its your Concentrica, the Pax or work colleagues, you have infinite opportunity to influence others positively or negatively. The choice is yours. As leaders, ask yourself after interactions with other people “How do they feel after speaking with me?” Did you lift them up or bring them down? Set the temperature for others. Be the light!

18 Days till Christmas

WARMUP: 10 each – SSH, cherry pickers, Moroccan night clubs
THE THANG: Hand release merkins and burpees, Jack Webb style up and down each row of the parking lot up to an 18 count (instead of 20) . Then switched it on the way back. The intention was to incorporate other exercises but there was a lot of aisles in the parking lot😬. So basically it was a lot of burpee’s and HR merkins
