PREBLAST – THE FORT INVERGENCE, 3RD YEAR CELEBRATION!

Mark your calendar, get ‘a hall pass’ from the M, and come join your fellow Fort Mill area pax for our annual birthday party, The Fort Invergence!    This September will mark the third year anniversary of F3 in the Fort Mill area,  and we’ll celebrate it with a night of great food, fellowship, and a look back of all that we’ve done since September 2012.

What:  Fort Mill Invergence (3rd anniversary party)

When:  Friday, September 18, 5:30PM

Where:  Bruce T. Rush Pavillion at the Anne Springs Greenway

Bring:  Food, drink, chair, some cash (to cover the pavillion rental/donations to the F3 Foundation)

Use the link below to RSVP and list what food you will bring:

F3 The Fort Invergence RSVP/Dinner Sign Up

This years theme is  High Impact Man (#HIM).   Several members of the Fort area Pax will review our accomplishments over the past year, and talk about where we are going in the coming year.    Our F3 leaders, OBT and Dredd, will be there too to discuss the plans for F3 nationwide.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM THE PAX!

Consistent with the HIM theme this year,  we would like to recognize those who had an impact on the pax or the Fort area region.   Was there someone who got you through a tough workout or run?  Who inspired you?  Who got you out at 5:15 each day when you didn’t feel like it?  Who supported you through a tough time?  Who made a difference this year?  Who exemplified the HIM?

Please submit the name of the person with a breif summary to  fcicciarello1@gmail.com.  We will either read them or post them during the event.  You can remain anonymous if you like.  This is not a contest or competition, but rather just a chance to share some good stories from the past year.

Burning the Ship!

Once a man embraces F3 principles, he no longer needs adjustable waist trousers to accommodate his yo-yo waistline.  Bring in the clothes that no longer fit you. We will be celebrating the war and donating these clothes to a good cause.  Lay down the pogo and stick it to the 40 that comes with it!

There will be weekly Twitter updates as the date gets closer.  This is great event and one you won’t want to miss!  Hope to see you all there.

Gonna do what with the blocks?

  • QIC: Jekyll
  • When: 8/8/2015
  • Pax: WWL, CSPAN, One- Niner, Ringer, Dredd, FNG- Lemur, X- Bo (WD), Atlas, Zima, missing one- sorry sound off below.
  • Posted In: The Reservation

Pleasantries and #howdoyoudos abound.  Surprise cameo and acknowledgment of the Nantan.  Something muttered about South Carolina and lack of sleeves. Disclaimer: (cinderblock concussion discussion) and off we went.

Quick warmup by WWL.

A circle of 8 cones each with an exercise set 20 yards from the center.  All exercises double count (4 count) unless noted:  25 CDD, 25 Peter Parker, 25 Freddys, 30 Mountain Climbers, 30 Lunges, 30 SSH, 25 squats (single count), 15 Merkin.

Complete cone, bear crawl to center, 10 cinderblock burpees, run out to next cone.  Rinse/Repeat around the circle until 7:30.

Round 1: Cinderblock Burpees

Round 2: Cinderblock curls

Round 3: Cinderblock Triceps

Round 4: Cinderblock Burpees

80 burpees, 80 curls, 80 tricep extensions, countless bearcrawls and exercises.  Some real pain here today.  Been a lot of emPHASis on running with the upcoming BRR.  Good to get back to some good ol fashion strength work.  We had some grunting and primal screams to show for it.

Good take out by X-Bo: an early F3 member that took a 5 year hibernation but has awoken and will be held accountable to post in the I.L.  Check the schedule.  We’ll be there.

Oh yeah, something something about pick it up, put it down, sprint, medicine ball, tire.

F3 is alive and well in the red clay hills of the Reservation.

Aye!

Partner Work

The morning 18 of the area’s finest showed up for a beating beyond preparation. T claps to Transplant for rocking his VQ warmup and first half of the workout. Hard work from the Pax and a strong word from Mailman. You fellas know how to bring the pain.

The Thang (courtesy of Transplant)

  • SSH
  • Imperial Walkers
  • Dips
  • Merkins

Mosey to Manchester Events Center

  • Run length of parking lot – 10 Merkins, run back – 50 LBCs
  • Run length of parking lot – 20 Merkins, run back – 100 LBCs

Mosey to Heartbreak Hill

  • Reverse Bear Crawl Up
  • 10 Bomb Jacks
  • Run down
  • Rinse and Repeat

Handoff to Mailman

Partnered up in teams of 3 according to similar size.  Two partners ran “the chute” (about .2 down and back), while one partner stayed back and did the exercises.  Every time the runners returned, teammates  switched off so that only one person stayed back to do the exercises.  Each team performed: 100 burpees, 200 jump squats, 300 LBCs.  This was a real crowd pleaser. Running the length of the lot and back once was tough. Doing it twice before the next exercise was even worse. All totaled, this was about 2 miles of running.

Next up, “Catch Me if You Can.” One team member carried a teammate on his back while the remaining team member did 20 monkey humpers.  After he finished with the monkey humpers, he ran to catch up with his teammates and trade off.  The team did this down the chute and back.

Moleskin

There was no rest for the weary this morning. Transplant jumped right in with a great start and Mailman closed it out with a Tinker Toy-like beating. After the workout, Mailman reminded us why we did so many partner workouts today (see more here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8noRwXuCfE&sns=em). He reminded us that Christ is there to carry us when things get tough. His grace and forgiveness are free. We can’t earn it. Just like we didn’t deserve to be carried by our partner today, we don’t deserve Christ’s grace. But, He extends it to all who call upon His name.

Partner work reminds us that we need each other as we walk through life. That’s what the second F in F3 stands for: Fellowship. Stay plugged in and find a church home where you can get engaged with others in the Faith (3rd F). Brothers, we are here for each other. Great work today!

Fort Mill Care Center Move Preblast – Help Needed

The Patriot’s Fusion is looking for some strong men to help the Fort Mill Care Center move food from their temporary location (818 Tom Hall Street) to their new location (2760 Old Nation Rd). We welcome all AOs to come Saturday, August 15th after their regularly scheduled workout. We plan to meet at 8:30 or 9 at the Tom Hall St location. Reach out to Fusion on Twitter @gilletted01 to let him know if you can help. The Fort Mill Care Center has helped our community for many years and this is our opportunity to give back. Trucks, trailers, and Pax are needed. Please take the time to help this worthy cause.

When there is a need and we have the ability, we should set an example for our communities showing that a real man steps in when the world steps out. Let’s be God’s hands and feet and help out. It is what we do.

Fitness: check. Fellowship: check. Faith: check. No excuses, just do it. Many hands make light work.

The Reservation – What is your Next Step?

  • QIC: Flat Tire / Cake Boss
  • When: 06/11/2015
  • Pax: Pebbles, Ringer, Heisman, Bounty Hunter, Tico, Kodiak, Rebel, Airebourne, Flat Tire, Cake Boss
  • Posted In: The Reservation

10 Men arrived to The Reservation for a morning exercise routine. However with Flat Tire and YHC, other than the 5 core F3 elements, there is nothing routine about Indianland beat downs.

Flat Tire took the Q and opened up with the Prodigal Son story. It has a lot to say about how we all think we know better than our parents and especially our heavenly Father, and we go off and do it our own way. At some point we find ourselves neck deep in the nasty and ask ourselves….what am I doing?? I turned away from my father and I am a mess. More to come on this story…..

The Thang:

Nice 1/2 mile mosey to back side of school grounds for some COP

SSHs, Imperial walkers, squats, merkins, peter parkers, CDDs, parker peters, mountain climbers moracan night clubs, probably missing something as I blacked out I think

mosey to football field

Back to story…….The son realized he was better off at home and went to ask for forgiveness. His father welcomed him with open arms and threw a huge party as his son was “saved”. We are never too far gone to come home to the father who will welcome us as we repent from the selfish sinful ways of our past. Don’t ever think that your past is too bad for God to overlook, as he wipes our past clean with our faith in his son Jesus.

So now that Flat Tire is warmed up, he wanted to stretch us out:

100 yard run – 10 burpees – 100 yard run – LBCs

100 yard run – 15 burpees – 100 yard run – freddy murcurys

100 yard run – 20 burpees – 100 yard run – flutters

Once we all got our sight back and could focus (except pebbles who was yawning)…..hand off to YHC

Mosey to Dragon’s Crack…..I think it’s called…..

I added to Flat Tire’s story of we all make a mess in our life at some point and the challenge is to the PAX, “WHAT IS YOUR NEXT STEP?” What are you going to do next? Cry over your mess…..act like no big deal……blame everyone else around you for your circumstances? Our past does not make us…..it builds us into the men God wants us to be…..we can take our mess to the cross and be forgiven and turn our lives over to God and live according to his will and plan. It’s what we do next that matters not what we have done.

At the bottom of the Dragon= 1 burpee – middle of dragon=2 Bomb Jacks – Top of dragon=3merkins

7 rounds adding a rep of each exercise each round….for you math majors that would be 7 burpees, 8 bomb jacks and 9 merkins at end of running the back 7 times

Wall sits on dugout until 6 is done

Count off in 1’s and 2’s –

1’s-20 dips & 20 derkins while 2’s wall sits 4 rounds flap jacking each round

1’s-one leg squats (10reps each leg) 2’s ab exercise 2 rounds flap jack each round

Moesy to parking lot:

1’s pick up coupons for lap around parking lot while 2’s do abs and then flap jack – Complete this for 6 mins

COT:

Great work today by the men! It was hot and humid and the cardio and strength was tested and everyone showed up and worked hard.

Check email blast for all announcements, mud runs, gladiator games, pancake breakfast and others

Prayers for the sick and suffering and praise to Rebel’s daughter finding a new life in Christ and fellow mission trip friends. He is an Amazing God!!

Thanks for the opportunity and look forward to visiting The Reservation again!!

COT

The most powerful moments at an #F3Dads workout for me are the laughter I hear and hugs I receive from my 2.0s. These memories are ones I will always cherish! However, posting with my 2.0s isn’t perfect. Jellyfish and T-Rex always groan and complain some during an #F3Dads workout. They have also mastered the art of bellyaching about being tired and hot.

I started to think about when I post … I do the same thing my 2.0s do! I just don’t always say it to the other PAX. I bellyache a lot inside and sometimes it manifests in a grunt or groan. I push through because of the men around me. The men I’m accountable too. The men who give me encouragement. As a member of F3 we look our for our six!

I forget sometimes that my 2.0s are little and expect them not to complain when they have to do merkins at the top of a hill. I was reminded on Saturday that they need us like we need our F3 brothers. During a Dad’s workout they need us to chase them, carry them, hold their hand, hug them, wipe away tears, bandage a scraped knee, get them some water and even some encouragement. They are my six!

God bless our PAX, our community and this great country!

AYE!

231 Merkins, 231 LBCs, 176 Burpess, 176 Jumps, and 4 miles

  • QIC: Italian Job, Padre
  • Pax: Peach, Walker, Bandit, Winchester, Popeye, AquaLung, Utah, Lock Pick, Twister, Geppetto, Padre, Italian Job
  • Posted In: Alcatraz, The Fort, The Reservation

This morning would have been a good morning to fartsack. But those 11 men that joined YHC and Padre got stronger, faster, and better. It was worth the beating.

The Thang

  • SSH
  • Morroccan Night Clubs
  • Windmills
  • Low Slow Squat

Mosey to the wall for

  • People’s Chair (all Pax took turns counting to 10 – no rest, no break)

Mosey to the courtyard

  • 25 step ups each leg
  • 25 dips

Mosey to the football field

  • Blackjack – this one is new for the Patriot. It’s similar to 11s, but longer and more difficult:
  • 20 Merkins, run to the other sideline for 1 LBC
  • 19 Merkins, run to the other sideline for 2 LBCs
  • All the way down to 1 Merkin and 20 LBCs
  • 231 of each

Prior to handoff, YHC encouraged each man to continue posting. Your presence at these workouts keeps me coming back. We are accountable to our brothers and it’s our responsibility to show up even when it gets tough.

Hand off to Padre

  • After a quick 10 count, Padre introduced us to a new Burpee ladder exercise:
  • 10 knee tuck jumps—10 side Burpees
  • 9 same—9 double thrust burped
  • 8 same—8 1 armed burpees 4 right 4 left
  • 7 same— 7 4 right leg only/ 3 left leg burpees
  • 6 same— 6 burpee
  • 5 same —- same 5
  • Until 1
  • 136 of each

Padre shared some words found in Proverbs 12 about discipline. We are to love discipline. F3 is about pushing ourselves to be better. The only way to get better is be disciplined in our workouts, work, family, and relationships.

Mosey to picnic table

  • 2-3 rounds of 10 10/ 5 5
  • 10 burpee jumps on to bench or table followed by a 10 sec rest
  • 5 burpee jumps and 5 sec rest

All You Got Mosey to COT

Naked Moleskin

This workout took the feel of a Monday Old Town beating. Each man pushed past the humidity, sweat, heat, and pain to finish as a unit. These men are disciplined in their approach to their workouts. Twister said it best, “I may not always finish first, but I always finish.” Any one of the Pax could have mailed it in and quit when the sweat starting pouring in our eyes. None of us would have known if you skipped the 147th merkin or 90th burpee. But you didn’t. You continued for you and for your F3 brother struggling right next to you. Good work men. I’m proud, as always, to sweat right beside you.

Big shout out to Geppetto for putting in 4 miles prior to our 4 mile workout today. The man is a BEAST! Great job Walker finishing first in Black Jack. Awesome work Utah, Bandit, and Winchester for being right there on his heels. Twister and Peach, you guys have no quit in you and it encourages the rest of the Pax. Thanks for the work you continue to put in. Lock Pick continues to show up and get faster and stronger. He’s the quiet guy that one day runs behind you and 3 weeks later leaves you in the dust. Aqua Lung and Popeye, your endurance has greatly improved. Good work pushing yourselves each week. And finally, you guys may not have noticed, but Padre went for an extra round of Burpee jumps when everyone finished. Not only that, but he went from jumping on the benches to jumping on the table. Mad hops from the man of the Lord. Great job!

$86,400 a day and $3,600 of it spent at The Reservation doing OCR

  • QIC: Longshanks
  • When: 06/13/2015
  • Pax: Bounty Hunter, Ringer, One-niner, Spitz, Lugnut, Airborne, Jaywalk (FNG), Longshanks
  • Posted In: The Reservation

8 of The Fort’s finest (fittest/funniest) descended upon The Reservation despite the warning of monkey bars, walls, bucket carries, and burpees.  You know, all the essential things of a great obstacle course race.  Since an FNG was present (Airborne’s 2.0) a little more thorough disclaimer was given.  And off we go…

The Thang

Lap around the front parking lot, then mosey over to the bus lot for warm-up.  SSH x 20 IC, Merkins X10 IC, Windmills x 20 IC, 5 burpees OYO, Squats x 10 IC, Imperial Walkers x 20 IC, Plank jacks x 10 IC, Mountain Climbers x 20 IC, Plank hold at 6 inches for 10-count.

Mosey over to the playground for some upper body OCR on the money bars.  Go through the money bars normally, run a lap around playground, next time through the bars, go side ways using the side of the monkey bars, run a lap, third time through go forward but using the side of the monkey bars, run another lap. Plank it and wait for the six.  Then cycle through 10 dips, 10 muscle ups, 10 pullups, 10 CDD, and run a lap.  Rinse and repeat but in reverse order, run a lap.

Mosey/bear crawl/mosey/crab walk/mosey to the big wall on the back side of the school.  Once arriving at the wall assume the people’s chair position.  While sitting, I talked about what would you do if you were given $86,400 a day each day for the rest of your life, but you couldn’t take any balance with you and it started back the next day again after being wiped out at midnight.  We get 86,400 a day, but it’s not money.  It’s seconds.  How are you investing your time?  Are you wasting it or using it for good causes. Are you investing it in others or being selfish and using it all on yourself?  After sitting on the wall pondering this question it was time to get over the wall.  Many needed help getting over the wall.  Once over the wall we headed back down the wall and assumed the people’s chair again.  This time 10 shoulder presses IC then recover.

Mosey back to the front of the school.  Time to go over the smaller walls, but before each wall 2 burpees must be completed (its IL, have to do some burpees).  Once over all 6-7 walls, traverse the wall in front of the school (the long one).  Rinse and repeat without the 2nd traverse.

Mosey over to the baseball fields hill and the bucket is noticed.  Filled with 66 pounds of weights.  I person carries the bucket up the hill and back down, while the other cycle through 5 merkins, 10 squats, 15 LBC, 20 SSH.  Each person carries the bucket up twice.  Once everyone has gone twice, each person grabs one thing from the bucket to take back.  Mosey up to the main parking lot for some dealers choice.  Some of the items include Inchworm, plyo merkins, merkins, dying cockroach, flutter kicks, and more.

COT, BOM

Announcments – read your weekly email, Hog and Coyote next Saturday (Possibility that Reservation will be closed that day)

Prayers – teething babies, Member of OPES staff that passed away Thursday

Moleskin – First off I want to thank One-niner and Pebbles for the chance to come over and Q the Reservation.  I know for that to happen, they respect what you are capable of bringing to one of their workouts.  Also welcome to FNG Jaywalk, 2.0 of Airborne.  Loved the mumblechatter from the start as soon as One-niner arrived.  Can show for this, but not his own Q.  You know we love you One-niner, but we love giving you a hard time even more.  Best F3 couple in The Fort have to be Spitz and Lugnut.  These 2 are never seen at an AO without the other and they bicker and mumblechatter with each other like and old married couple.  Always amusing when these 2 are at your Q.

And with what I said earlier about having 86,400 seconds a day.  3,600 of it was spent working hard over an hour with these special men.  Continue to invest your time in men in this group and the men that need to be in this group.  #DRP # ISI #HIM
