Honor of Cash

Today, we honored Cash, hospital name Jay Griggs, who passed away in Sept 2020 of cancer. He was given the name “Cash” as in Johnny Cash due to his all black outfit he worn at his first workout along with his hometown of Nashville, TN. The Coop was renamed “Ring of Fire” in honor of Cash. Double D shared stories through the workout. Cash was a genuine person who was always ready to help out a friend.
Jekyll provided me with a backblast from 2015 where Cash was in attendance. I decided to copy it on a piece of paper and unfortunately dropped it in the gloom so it did not match the exact workout.
We first moseyed to the front entrance of the school for COP (SSHs, IWs, Windmills, Cherry Pickers, Plank Stretches, and Mountain Climbers)
Next, we moseyed to the gym wall for People’s Chair with each pax running out to the parking lot for 5 merkins. One round of Balls to the Wall.
The lights came on making it easier to navigate, mosey to the ROTC building.
Dirty McDeuce (3 exercises, 12 reps) Run to the top of the hill, 5 burpees and back down to starting point.
R1: Merkins, LBCs, Lunges
R2: Wide Arm Merkins, Hello Dollies, Squats
R3: CDD, Flutters, Jump Squats
R4: Stagger Merkins, X/Os, Calf Raises

Back to the top of the hill near the school
Three rounds of toe touches, Dips, Derkins (12 reps)

THE THANG:
Part 1
Using the field in 10 yard increments
Starting at the end zone run to the 10 yard line do 1 burpee and at the push-up position do 4 merkins. Run back to the end zone.
Run to 20 yard line, 2 burpees with 4 merkins each time you go down (8 total merkins). Run back to end zone.
30 yd, 3 burpee 12 merkins. Run back.
Continue until the other end zone is reached which would be 10 burpees and 40 merkins.

Part 2
Similar to above,
Instead, nur to 10yd and do 4 squats. Run bank to end zone
Nur to 20yd line, 8 squats, run back to start.
Continue until finished.

Lately, I’ve been reading this book called the exemplary husband. The definitions of mercy and grace were given. Though the words are similar in meaning, they are very different.

Mercy means not getting what you deserve. Grace means getting what you don’t deserve.

If God gives us what we don’t deserve freely, and withholds from us what we truly deserve, how should we live our lives? What do we deserve? I can tell you, it’s not very good. Yet God lavishes his grace on us. Think about that as you carry yourself in your concentrica.

Thunderstruck tire flip

– mosey to parking lot in back of school. split PAX in 2 groups. task for one PAX (“the traveler”) was to flip large tire from one team to the other. traveler calls exercise which all other PAX will do while traveler is moving to other side. Rinse and repeat until all PAX traveled. Mosey to play ground and back to tire location. switched to lawn area for Jack Webb: 1x Merkin + 4x OH clap … all the way to 10x / 40x. Mosey back to COT

IronPax Pep- The Wheel of Misfortune

THE THANG: The Wheel of Misfortune
In a throwback IronPax workout from 2020, we did the Wheel of Misfortune. 43 minutes of AMRAP.
Start with a 400 meter run
Pick up your block, do 10 Thrusters
Rifle carry the block 25 yds. to the 1st of 6 stations. They included: Decline Merkins, Blockees/Man Makers, Squats with the block on your back, Kettle Bell Swings, Chest Press and Cross Arm Block Raises.
In between each station, Rifle carry back to the light pole and do 10 Thrusters.
Each round consisted of 210 reps.
Most completed 2 rounds. Some more, some less.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Sign-up for IronPax, Ft. Mill Care Center still needs items. Get ready for Tour de Fort for the 10 year.
COT: Prayers for kids/teachers/parents as school starts back. Prayers for @Slapshot as he visits PA and his 102 yr old grandmother.

Burpee Fest

WARMUP: SSH, Imperial Walkers, LS Squats, Merkins, Windmills, Mountain Climbers
THE THANG: Mosey to hill behind ROTC Bldg: #1: 8’s: Bombjacks @ the bottom of the hill and Merkins @ the top.
#2: 17 Burpees OYO – then 1 lap around the parking lot. Followed with 10 burpees each lap. rinse and repeat.

Merkin extravaganza

WARMUP: mosey to the asphalt football field, Moroccan night clubs, cherry pickers, low slow squats, low slow merkins
THE THANG: start with 2 squats, 2 merkins, 2 big boy sit-ups at the end line,
mosey 10 yards, increase to 4 count of each,
mosey to 20 yard line, do 6 reps of each…
30 YL-8 reps,
40YL-10 reps,
50YL-12 reps, start decreasing by 2 reps…
40 YL-10 reps,
30 YL-8 reps,
20YL-6reps,
10YL-4 reps, end line -2 reps; take a lap…
rinse and repeat, with different exercises this time, side straddle hops, wide arm merkins, LBC’s… these two evolutions where meant to follow natural movements, stand up, down on your chest, roll back on your 6… it kept the flow going.
Take another lap.
One more evolution just like before but only with merkins… a few of us where done with upper body after this… 30 second body destroyer and mosey back to COT

8 minutes of broga to stretch most of our abused muscles…

Humidity was 1000% I believe.. everyone gave their best effort
