A “Gloomy” Morning

WARMUP: SSH, toy soldiers, quads, Cherry pickers, mosey
THE THANG: lots of running today, got just short of 3 miles. Dora 200 step ups, 200 squats, 200 calf raises. Did some wind sprints in parking lot multiple times, suicides, etc.
MARY: LBCs, hammers, dollys
ANNOUNCEMENTS: F3 golf, Christmas party
COT: Prayers for marriages, prayer for Ruby as he meets with a brother in need, remember to say No to some things this season to say Yes to the more important things.

Foghat @ Ballroom w the Q stick!

WARMUP: Merks, Derks, Windmills, Squats LBCs and a mosey.
THE THANG: Circuit of 5/10 reps w 5 Bobby Hurley and a lap mixed in between reps. Closed out with 7’s Bombjack/Merks and mixed in some Wallsits and each Pax shared one thing their were Thankful for over the Thanksgiving weekend.
MARY: none

Pole Work makes the Goal Work

WARMUP: Some normal stuff
THE THANG: Split into 4 groups of Pax to run the poles. Pole 0: 10 KB Swings while rest of group does Seal Jacks, Pole 1: 10 Merkins, Pole 2: 20 Squats, Pole 3: 30 Plank Jacks, Pole 4: 40 Flutters. At least 4 or 5 rounds were completed by all.
MARY: LBCs, Protractor, Hello Dolly and then the classic Hive finishing move: Airborne’s hip destroyer
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Coffeeteria at Panera during the winter, Shovel flag handoffs this week on Wednesday, Serving at the shelter this week, and final highway clean up next week
COT: Take time today to love those around you because you don’t know when is the last time

Dude Ranch Fun

WARMUP: Quick run/jog around the front parking lot then out to the driveway close to the parkway. Bobber arrived a little late and met up halfway through the run, which I think was his plan. Circle up and 10-15 reps of the following:
* SSH
* Windmills
* Imperial walkers
* Moroccan night clumbs
* Strawberry pickers
Good mumblechatter from the start. Then mosey back to the parking lot near the front of the school for the main event.

THE THANG:
4 corner fun
Cones were set up around the front parking lot and also along the car rider pickup area in front of the school at the main entrance. Do the exercise, then the movement to the next cone.
Area was approx 100yds long x 30yds wide.
1. Burpees, then Lt Dan to next cone (~100yds)
2. Box cutter, then crab walk to next (~30yds)
3. Merkins, then Lt Dan (~100yds)
4. Mountain climbers, 2 ct, then crab walk (~30yds)
Repeat until time out
Reps of each exercise were descending with each round: 25, 20, 15, 10, 5 (75 total reps of each exercise)
Straight Up showed up late when most were finishing their first round of burpees. He quickly caught up and passed most. Beast, Alot of mumblechatter that died down as we got through the first round. Everyone got through 3 rounds of the loop until we ran out of time (60reps of each exercise). GREAT JOB FELLAS!!!
Quick jaunt back to COT which wasn’t very far.

It is mornings like this – cold yet clear – where the combination of fellowship, early exercise, and beautiful weather just starts your day off in such a wonderful way that nothing else afterwards can phase you. You already won the day and have been invigorated to take on anything and be thankful and blessed for everything.

Merkin 200 at the Yard

Short mosey to start
Warm-up: SSH (I/C 20x), Windmills (I/C 8x), Imperial Walker (I/C 15x), Moroccan N/C (I/C 15x), Mountain climbers (I/C 15x)
Six count burpees (5x)
Short mosey run
Routine #1: Prison Yard Merkins: at a half basketball court do 10 merkins at one corner, bearcrawl to next corner and do nine merkins, keep going around until finish with one merkin (from 10, the total merkins here is 55).
Short mosey run
At the benches:
Step ups (10 each leg, OYO)
Derkins (15, single count)
Butt Touch Squats (15x)
Incline merkins (15, single count)
Calf raises (I/C 20x)
Dips (I/C 15x)

Short mosey run to fire access road
We ran a short bit and then stopped and did a push up exercise, rinse/repeat.  Some ten counts in between.  The push ups were:
HAND RELEASE (15 single count)
WIDE ARM (15)
DIAMOND (15)
CURB RIGHT (10)
CURB LEFT (10)

Short mosey again, stopped and did:
Toy soldiers, stopped and did monkey humpers
Lunge walk, stopped and did bobby hurleys

Short mosey run
Another push-up exercise bit:
HAND RELEASE (10 single count)
WIDE ARM (10)
DIAMOND (10)
REGULAR (10)

Short mosey to last push-up-related bit:
Six count burpees (5x)

Cross Town

WARMUP: 10 each SSH, cherry pickers merkins too
THE THANG: Start at FMCOG 15 merkins, run to parking lot on confederate and do 10 merkins and 20 flutters, up to First Baptist for 15 squats and 15 big boys, then to police station for dips and step ups, then to academy and Forrest for 15 monkey humpers and 15 bomb jacks. Ran through it twice

Waiting for Twister to Shut His Yap

WARMUP:   Active Warmup – High Knees, Butt Kickers, Toy Soldiers, Soy Toldiers, Open/Close Gates, World Wide Leaders {trademark}, Long Strides

THE THANG:  Mosey to Cake Boss Parking Lot (apparently 🤷🏻‍♂️) for ……drum roll please….Rugby Sprints!   Shocker, right?!   Got some good ground exercises in (you know the ones) followed by sharp bursts of speed in conjunction with short periods of recovery.   _They_ say it can even reverse the aging process.   (Don’t look at me – GOOGLE IT!).
 
Then.   Once Twister stopped talking…

we were able to finish.  Moved on to Quads around the corners of the building.  Bomb Jacks, Hand Release, Flying Squirrels, and Big Boys x 10 OYO.    Then mosey back to COT.

MARY:   Short Yoga sequence to get them hips loose [TWSS!] followed by 30 seconds of giving up all effort (to help Bonsai with his ADHD)
