3rd F Monthly Theme – June: Leadership — The Strength to Serve, The Courage to Lead

Power in Serving First

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
– Mark 10:45

Leadership. It’s a word that gets thrown around a lot. But in the Kingdom of God, leadership looks different. It’s not about titles, influence, or being out front. It’s about humility, sacrifice, and a willingness to go last.

In Mark 10:45, Jesus flips the script on how we view leadership. He reminds us that true authority starts with serving others — not seeking to be served. If the Son of Man led with a towel and not a throne, what does that say about how we should lead in our own lives?

This month, we challenge every man in The Fort to examine how he leads — in his home, in his workplace, and in his community. Leadership isn’t reserved for those with big platforms. It begins with small, intentional acts of faithfulness. It begins when you put someone else’s needs before your own.

Ask yourself:

  • What does godly leadership look like?

  • Where in my life am I being called to serve first?

  • How can I reflect the leadership style of Jesus?

Let’s stop chasing influence and start modeling impact. Let’s lead like Jesus — not from the top down, but from the bottom up.

Not religious? No problem.
. Whether you come from a church background, another belief system, or none at all, the values we talk about — like servant leadership, integrity, and living with purpose — speak to the core of what it means to be a strong man in your family, your workplace, and your community.

These conversations are meant to sharpen all of us, regardless of where we’re starting from. We don’t preach. We share. We challenge. And we grow — together.

COT: Rumbling Bald asked for a challenging workout, hopefully this delivered.

I struggle to push myself with an AMRAP style IronPAX workout like Thang 1. Usually I get bored and my motivation wanes after round 3. So, I switched it up and called the reps. This was to keep me motivated as much as the PAX.

Ladder concept…run to a cone and do the reps assigned at the cones. Go back to the start do 5 squats and then go to the next cone etc…

Exercises were merkins and LBCs

Also had a burpee whistle blown at my discretion. 3 burpees each time.

So the cones were lined up at the distance from “home”

So .05 was cone 1…. .10 was cone 2 etc… all the way to cone .25.

We were able to wrap up with most getting to 2.5-3.0 miles and everyone got 150 LBCs and 150 Merkins. Thanks to Rosie for the opportunity!!!

YHC was a bit off from the later start time but good to have some built in “disruption” on occasion to build our durability.

The message left with the PAX with was:
The best fruits of this life are an unstained character and acts for the common good. As leaders, what are we doing to cultivate the former and initiate the latter?

Thanks for the call <@U78QN5XU5> . :eye:
