MLK Tribute

5 men showed up at The Yard on a cold ,breezy morning. Warm-ups started at the basketball courts with SSHs, Windmills, Imperial Walkers, Squats, and MNCs.
Next, we honored MLK with 15 burpees for his age when he entered college. He was only 39 years old when he passed away. I read his heart was in the condition of a 60 year old, mostly due to stress (he was also a smoker). Next, we moseyed to the back parking lot for a round of DORA (Merkins, Squats, LBCs). More MLK facts, over 700 streets, parks are named after this great man. He also made over 1500 speeches over his lifetime. Back to the basketball courts, dips on the wall, lunge walk to the basketball goal, reverse lunge walk to the foul line for 10 Bobby Hurleys (NC State graduate according to Boogie Down). We completed three round before time was up.
Back to COT.
MLK was an amazing man. We each have an opportunity to make an impact in this world, more importantly, in our community. We just need to take a step forward and act.

Not moderate.  Good work put in. Fellowship was pretty quiet by about day 5.

Pre-D2D Golf Tournament Mini Golf Workout

WARMUP: Mosey’d to the Armory via the Forbidden Highway. Stopped halfway to do some warmup exercises (can’t remember which ones) and a 5-count motivator.
THE THANG: Played mini golf in the Forest Hill parking lot. Started at hole 1, did an exercise, ran a lap, and moved to hole 2. Repeated until everyone worked their way through the front 9. Exercises were cumulative as the PAX progressed through each hole.

Indian ran along the Forbidden Highway back to COT.
MARY: Finished out with a 10-count motivator and some Mary.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: There were some.
COT: It took place. There was a circle and some praying. It was good.

Hidden Card Tricks

WARMUP: Moseyed to a church parking lot, short warmup and stretch.
THE THANG: Moseyed to a sneaky hidden deck of cards on the ground for round 1. Cards were pulled. The first or second pull was for 25 burpees. The Q’s name was suddenly in sentences you don’t say in church. The burpees were done. Moseyed till another hidden deck. More cards, more exercises, more complaining “this is a moderate ya know”’. Next mosey to a set of hidden cards that were never found. Really hidden well. Moseyed to next set, then mosey back to COT.

Routine #1: Prison Yard Merkins: at a half basketball court do 10 merkins at one corner, bearcrawl to next corner and do nine merkins, keep going around until finish with one merkin (from 10, the total merkins here is 55).
