WARMUP:

Quick disclaimer and shared we would be doing the Mental Battle workout created by DropThrill.

THE THANG:
Little mosey into a secondary parking lot and did a warmup

SSH – 20
Windmills- 6
Imp Walkers – 15
Plank Stretching
Merkins – 10 IC

From there we ran over to bigger lot where I set up a “4 corners” this was the 7 provided exercises and one extra. We then did 4 laps on 1/2 the exercises and 4 laps on the second.

Exercises were:

Jump squats x 12
Merkins x 15
Plank Jacks x 20
Lunges x 12 per leg

Inbetween the first and second half we held plank and I shared some alarming statistics with mental health. We discussed F3 and it’s impact on my life and others, the importance of getting right, guard rails, shield locks and conquering the jester (all in light of the fact that mental health a very dynamic thing)

Then we did the second half…

LBCs x20
Burpees x 10
Monkey Humpers x 30
Mountain Climbers x 30

We had extra time so we did wall sits and balls to walls on side of movie theater, then we ran around backside and ran up a two story flight of stairs twice. Then we moseyed back around to COT and had enough time for 10, 6 point Burpees IC. Fun way to end it out.

I had everyone recover on their feet and then add 1 last Burpee.

NNM: I spoke today about one of the many examples of what F3 has meant to me. Specifically, the other day I was out for a pre-run where I started out at a “comfortable pace” already deciding in my head what I was “good” with that morning.  Then about 2 miles in I came across a fellow Pax who got to the AO early and decided to go find me. We started to run together and my “comfortable pace” got very uncomfortable very quickly. All told, when we got back to COT I had increased the pace I was running at by over 35 seconds. He literally found me where I was, didn’t leave me behind, and pushed me to accelerate. It is what I needed then, and it’s what I needed 5 years ago when I started F3. I never knew how fast I could run, until I started running with faster guys. That Friday morning was a great reminder that I can always push more, that I have plenty of gas left in the tank, and that somewhere out in the gloom a brother is willing to go find you and get you better. (Thanks Olaf)

Whether you are accelerating 1F or the 2nd and 3rd, run with faster guys and don’t just be comfortable. You never really know what you are capable of until you push just a little bit more.

AYE!

The hills are moist

Steady rain all morning

4 PAX pre-ran starting at 0445 – crossed 160 and around new kingsley loop and then back across 160 and around lake loop – back at 0510 for a bit of stretching and mumblechatter

7 runners and 2 ruckers departed at 0515.

runners route – Left on Munn, Left into FMHS campus. Most PAX stopped for 4 solid hill sprints up the hill that leads down to get vehicles down to the track/field. Continued through campus and popped out onto Harris St. Ran downhill from there to Harris St park where we veered Left onto the paved path toward WEP. At WEP, we did a couple more hill sprints and let the 6 join back with the pack. continued Left on 160 back to COT.

All runners got 3.7, some got closer to 5.

More thoroughbreds today than clydesdales. Maybe clydesdales are sensitive to rain?

Thanks for the opportunity to lead us this morning Rolloff.
