Officer Sean Clark
Sean Clark was a man of quiet strength and deep compassion, raised in Charlotte’s Pawtuckett neighborhood. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he returned home to care for his family and worked as a maintenance technician before joining CMPD. He fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a police officer in 2006 and quickly earned the respect of his peers. Sean was a loving husband to Sherry and father to a young son, with another child on the way. He was killed alongside Officer Shelton while responding to a call. His life continues to inspire through memorials and scholarships.

Jeff Shelton was a U.S. Marine and a six-year veteran of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, known for his boundless energy, deep character, and love of the outdoors. Raised in Monroe, NC, he played multiple sports and never met a stranger. Jeff was pursuing further education and was active in the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a devoted husband to Jennifer and loved his cocker spaniel, Cody. Jeff was tragically killed in the line of duty while responding to a disturbance call. His legacy lives on through a foundation that supports law enforcement and future officers.

Firefighter Richard Michael Sheltra
Richard Sheltra was a kind soul with a quiet demeanor and a servant’s heart. Born and raised in Charlotte, NC, he was drawn to service from a young age and joined the Pineville Volunteer Fire Department. He played football and lacrosse, studied Fire Science, and earned accolades including Rookie of the Year. Richard was in the final stages of applying to the Charlotte Fire Department when he was tragically killed battling a three-alarm blaze. He died doing what he loved—serving others in their time of greatest need. His legacy continues through a foundation that supports first responders.

Detective Michael Robert Doty
Mike Doty was a man of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering commitment to service. He shared a close bond with his twin brother Chris, and both served with the York County Sheriff’s Office. Mike worked in drug enforcement and coordinated the Narcan program, saving lives in the fight against opioid addiction. He was also a SWAT team member, always ready to run toward danger. Mike was killed in an ambush while responding to a domestic violence call. His family later learned of his many quiet acts of kindness—mentoring youth, paying bills for families in recovery, and more. His legacy is one of honor, humility, and love.

Run Run Rudolph

This ended up basically being a shield lock workout. With several of us having nagging injuries, we mainly did running today.

WARMUP: warm-up lap around the track, SSH, Windmills, Moroccan Night Clubs

THE THANG: The Laredo- 6 rounds. 24 Squats, 24 Merkins, 24 Lunges, run a lap around the track. Since it was just the 4 of us, we decided to do this together in cadence.

Then we did some mountain climbers & sprints. For 4 minutes, 25 mountain climbers and the goal-line then sprint to the other goal-line. Rinse and repeat for the full time.

Temps were going to be on the cooler side so opted for a lighter weight, high rep workout format. Don’t worry, added a couple of heavy coupons that took their toll on the PAX. What doesn’t kill ya makes you at least 1% better.

WARMUP: Mosey around the COT parking lot for about 3 min and ended near COT where my board of pain was placed and couple of heavy coupons lay lurking. We completed all of the cardio exercises listed on the board in succession to complete the warmup – 30xSSHIC , 20xMCsIC, 10xBurpeesOYO

Kicking Ass & Chewing Bubble Gum

Driving around FM the night before running errands and thinking about my Q at the Stockade. Reviewed a few BBs and didn’t see any references to coupons. Messaged The Pirate, who was Qing at Varsity, and asked if I could borrow a few Cindys. He was very much obliged as I took a few off his AO. Woke up this morning with a car packed full of Cindys and a plan, the only thing left to do was to kick ass and chew gum.

WARMUP: Short mosey around the small parking lot which led into the larger parking lot where I had the Belle Ringer IPC wo laid out. Performed a few SSH & Burpees while explaining the format of the workout. Time to work.

THE THANG:
Belle Ringer
Format: AMRAP for 40 minutes
Set-Up: Make a 5-point star with each point of the star being 25 yards away from the center.
Workout starts with:
1. 5 ManMakers in the middle. Rifle carry to cone 2 and perform 10 “We’re Not Worthy”. Farmer carry back to center.

2. 5 ManMakers in middle. Rifle carry to cone 3 and perform 15 Goblet Squats. Farmer carry back to center.

3. 5 ManMakers in middle. Rifle carry to cone 4 and perform 20 CurltoPress OH. Farmer carry back to center.

Transparent Thought Life

WARMUP: 50xSSHIC followed by a short mosey to our first pain station.

THE THANG:
At the end of the warm-up mosey we found ourselves at the entrance to the loop at the front of the school.
Played Catch Me If You Can with the finish line being opening to the road that leads to the back of the school
Partner#1 Bear Crawled while Partner#2 performed 5 burpees and then moseyed to catch Partner#1. Continue to flapjack until you reach the finish line.

Nex, moseyed to the back of the school to use the benches and stairs. Reverse 1/2 Jack Webb: Started with 10 step-ups each leg and then went into 40 squats. We stopped after completing the 5 & 20 mark.

Next, moseyed to the playground for a Mini No-Run Dora.
Partner#1 moved into a straight arm plank position with feet in a swing – performed one knee tuck followed by a Merkin – that equals 1 rep – Partners need to complete accumulative rep count of 100. While Partner #1 performs the exercise, Partner #2 completes 10 pullups, returns to Partner #1 and flapjack until accumulative rep count is complete.

Finally, moseyed to COT from some AB work.
30 sec. of scissor kicks right into 30 sec of LBCs

Straight Arm Plank Position – held for 2min.15sec. – removed hands and feet from base in a rotating fashion, 1 at a time for 15 sec. and then removed 2 posts for 15 sec a pop.

WARMUP: Set-up for the workout, guys showed up, gave the disclaimer, and we completed SSHx10IC at each station with 1 burpee OYO as the exercise and flow was explained. Came back to the center to start.
