OCR Practice Day

WARMUP: We did an extended full body warm-up with various exercises focused on the hamstrings.
THE THANG:
This was a practice Obstacles Course Run OCR testing our athleticism and endurance. We ran it together. There was a lot of up and down movements, running into and out of “obstacles”, bear crawls, mountain climbers, and small hills. We ran just over a 5k distance + obstacles.
I want to say that @SouptoNuts and @Headspin did a great job with a difficult workout goal today. They kept moving and were definitely challenged endurance and athleticism-wise. Keep up the great work!

MESSAGE: (My words were requested):
Topic: Pride, Worry/Anxiety, Laziness:
Has the enemy batted you down a path to destruction with some of these above?

– Watch out for PRIDE.
Humility is a posture, not a feeling.
– Worry/Anxiety:
Worry is anti-prayer.
When you worry, cast those things on God.
– Laziness is an abdication of responsibility.
Watch out for isolation.
– HOPE: 1 Peter 5:6-7
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: None.
COT: There are some key prayer requests within the PAX for family dealing with health challenges. For all of us for humility, direction, and openness to SkyQ’s will.

C.A.L.M.

Well, this workout was anything other than
C.A.L.M. for the first 20 minutes. Comments were flying all over the place for my early incoherent 5:15 a.m. speech and demonstrations patterns. Rough start. It never let up after @Fishstix chided me with my beautiful description of Moroccan Night Clubs.
WARMUP: So we warmed up with a few of those and two other exercises.
THE THANG:
3 sections:
1. 15 minute workout with a partner; timer is the one person in the larger group doing 12 manmakers with a 30 lb sandbag
Partner rotate exercises based on timer listed above:
Merkins/Squats
Dips/Reverse Lunges
One arm Shoulder Presses with KB/Squat high jumps
We rotated through about twice.

2. Ab practice time. I will admit there was a lot of chatter in the first 15 minutes, less in the next 6.5 minutes of abs and quite a bit more of groaning and complaining.
1 minutes each:
Figure 8’s
Parker Peters
X-man Crunch
Rest for 30 secs
Starfish Crunch
21 Crunch
Twisted T-planks

3. Broga: 25 minutes with a focus on shoulders

ANNOUNCEMENTS: D2D is tomorrow.
COT: Lots of praises but also some serious prayer requests. Thank you men for sharing!
Thank you for the opportunity @headspin and @bodywash!

T.H.I.N.K.
Before you speak in anger toward your family or a friend, ask yourself:
Is it TRUE?
Is it Helpful?
Is it Inspiring?
Is it Necessary?
Is it Kind?
ANNOUNCEMENTS: D2D coming!
COT: People seem to be working through lots of illnesses and sicknesses generally outside of the PAX. Prayers for those struggling through these challenges.

The blessing of fellowship at every workout is a sustaining thing for all of us. I was grateful for that this morning in a small but meaningful group of HIM.

Dojo – thanks for the call out. You were missed. Bonsai & Short Sale – thanks for joining YHC. It was a pleasure to be in your company this morning in the gloom and go 1-0 on the day.

Gratefully,
