Simple, but not Easy

Three got up early to do the hard thing. Here’s what we did:

Carry sandbag to the traffic circle at the bottom of Hubert Graham and back. Stopped 5 times to repeat 5 Manmakers, 10 OH Press, 15 Curls, and 20 Squats. 2.03 miles and great conversation about the positives and negatives of being dependable, reliable, and strong. Workout sucked but the company was great!

Stand-Up Colosseum Beat Down

WARMUP:
– SSH – 20 IC
– Imperial Walkers – 15 IC
– Moroccan Nightclubs – 20 IC
– Windmills – 15 IC

THE THANG:
Part A – 4 Corners Grinder (16 min)
– Corner 1: 20 Merkins
– Corner 2: 20 Squats
– Corner 3: 20 Carolina Dry Docks
– Corner 4: 20 LBCs
– Mode of travel between corners: Power skip first, Bear crawl second, Run third, Lunges fourth. AMRAP until time.

Part B – Partner Dora (17 min)
– 100 Hand Release Merkins
– 200 Squats
– 300 Flutter Kicks (2-count)
– One partner does exercise, the other runs to the curb about 50 yards away and back. Switch until reps complete.

13 YR Anniversary Convergence

Here is my weinke – Assassin

We had about 12 runners and 6 ruckers tackle the tundra of the paved loop around the schools.

Starting at the front door we headed around the back, past the shop, past the ROTC HQ, down to the elementary playground, back by the stadium, out to Jones Road and back to the front.

All enjoyed. Thanks to Sasquatch and Spectre for the preview lap and suggestions.

Mosey to pull up bars

Stay in groups Dora on the hill
Bottom 300 CDDs top 300 squat jumps mosey from top to bottom

Line up in parking lot for 43 seconds of following exercises followed by bear crawls in-between

THE THANG:
– Run to circle on Ben Casey Dr. – 30 reverse lunges
– Run down to circle on Patricia Ln. – 30 forward lunges
– Run over to the parking lot entrance at the bottom of the hill on Dave Gibson – 30 jump squats
– Run up the hill ~ +30 ft elevation back to the circle on Ben Casey
– REPEAT until ~5:55am ish and run back to COT.

– Tried to get in 10 x repeats, maybe we got in 6-7 or so for about 3.5 miles on leg day at Sweep the Leg.

You Don’t Need A Headlamp, But It Would Be Nice

WARMUP:
30 SSH, 30 IW, 10 HBW, 1 burpee

THE THANG:
Jack Web:
1 burpee, 4 merkins with a 0.1 mile travel between. Modified down to 0.07.
Called an Audible at number 7.

Moseyed to another parking lot and lunge walked from one end to another then reverse lunge walked back. That was followed by 10 LBCs. Rinse and repeat for about 10 min.

Moseyed over to the Print Shop for a short Jack Web of 1 pull-up, 4 dips up to 4 pull-ups and 16 dips.

Headed back to COT, wrapped up with 10 big boys
Covered a total of about 2.5+/- 0.2 miles

FYF: The Red Rocket Chronicles

9 (or maybe 10 and I can’t remember who the 10th was) found a safe space while <@U012K8DDK7V>‘s dog microaggressed a bunch of them with his red Rocket at Currahee…
– Ruby Slippers flew in 10 minutes early to be 5 minutes late
– Falcon Crest was hoodwinked early in his rucking career by Mainframe into buying a 45# plate, which is something he is sure he’ll eventually be grateful for

THE THANG:
Evolution 1 = 1-mile time hack – 14 minutes to complete
– Starting at corner of school, around big loop clockwise, turn left to go behind the school. Take the outside lane in the small lot, then take a left around the big loop and continue to the flags at entrance of school

Evolution 2 = Furman University (FU): founded in 1826 (14 minutes)
– 18 man-makers – buy in
– 26 curls
– 26 merkins
– 26 OHP
– 26 bent over rows
REPEAT if time (minus the man-makers — we forgot the deadlifts)

Evolution 3 = Abdomination
– Buy-in = bear crawl from crosswalk to crosswalk
– 40 2-count flutter with press
– 20 Simbas
– 10 double leg lifts

Evolution 4 = Hate loop time hack – 8 minutes
– Buy-in = crawl bear back to crosswalk 1
– ½ mile loop
– Big loop to small loop

STL meets Jack Webb

No warm-ups, no disclaimer (oops)
Ran down to school parking lot
Simple routine, at first light pole, kick off Jack Webb (1 merkin, 4 OH claps), run to the far end parking lot, 1 burpee. Add to the count +1 merkin, +4 OH claps and +1 burpee.
Finished with some time to spare, sprints between light poles and back to COT for bonus round of Jack Webb.

Ladders of fun

WARMUP:
The usual, SSH, Moroccan night clubs, lots of arm circles, low slow squats
THE THANG:
Disclaimer… Tabatha: every time the alarm went off… 10 Carolina dry docks every two minutes, 10 squats 30 seconds after that
Evolution: toss your sandbag to light pole towards car pool line, carry it no next one following the street, toss, carry… and then we found a ladder… loaded up the ladder with sandbags, one pax will carry sandbag while the other 6 went under weight carrying the ladder on their shoulders, remember Tabatha? Well, every time alarm went off, ladder is grounded, dry docks and squats are performed, rotate pax on sandbag, keep moving… movement was dictated by Tabatha… back to start point, 5 minutes of broga… while at it… yes, alarm went off again… just a few more CDD and squats.

BBQ

3 men showed up at The Fort this morning. Quick disclaimer and we were on our way towards the Print Shop. Stopped at the town hall office building for some dynamic stretching, Step -ups and dips next store, Muscle ups at the wall. Continued on to the park overlooking Main Street. Bear crawl/Merkin combo along with lunge walk/ squat combo.
Arrived at the pull-up bars for 4 sets of pull-ups, leg lifts.
Headed back to main street where Grout had a plan. Light pole shuffle run, 1 burpee at each, 1 merkin plus an additional merkin at each pole. 15 poles , 120 merkins total.
Back to WEP for some Mary.
