The Fort is big in number and small in geography. For the first time in our history, we have two 1st F Qs.

  • Bonsai on the West
  • Time Machine on the East

The mission of F3 is to plant, grow, and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership. We’re doing such a good job on the plant & grow side, that we’re making this change to the Shared Leadership Team. Leading requires disruption. Its Foundation 1 in the Q-source. The SLT has been disrupted this morning (5/15/2025).

This isn’t a management change: the 1st F Q doesn’t “manage” anything. Their gig is to serve the AOs and invigorating the PAX’s leadership. Two tasks that need more than one man in a region with 34 AOs. Day-to-day operations for the PAX will be unchanged, but our Site Qs will now be supported more appropriate to our size.

This is The Fort. We work to be better everyday because the alternative is unacceptable.

What will change for the PAX? Very little. You show up to a workout, invest in the men around you and go home to be a better leader for your family, at work, in your church, etc.

What does this mean for our Region? We’ve got two proximate leaders pouring into our the AOs, the Site Qs, and the Region as a whole. Each side currently has 17 AOs.

  • Yes, Hwy 21 is roughly the dividing line.
  • Yes, #ao-training-ground looks like West Berlin inside East Germany.
  • Yes, your individual work of EHing men and giving away this thing we call F3 is still paramount.

Shanking With Stang

Fellas I have been slack lately and am late getting this out. We are having our annual Dam To Dam Shanking With Stang golf tournament in a month and a half. Here’s the details I have for now. Letter to The Fort

THE MISSION

“The Mission of F3 is to plant grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.” This mission is two interconnected parts, one part accelerating the other: 1) our workouts and 2) our community.  It has been proven across numerous communities just like Fort Mill that F3 makes a man stronger and then that man makes his community stronger. As a member of the pax, you personally have two responsibilities: 1) Emotionally Headlocking (EH) other men in our community to join us so they may stand up straight like you, and 2) to become a Virtuous Leader in this community.

THE VISION

Several months ago, Double D convened a group of pax to strategize about The Fort’s future—to discuss our next Position of Advantage. Two key positions emerged: 1) Accelerating our Leadership Development Process (LDP) and 2) being more visible in Fort Mill through our marketing efforts (MKT). You will see these two positions added to The Fort’s leadership team (SLT) and a lot of momentum created around these fronts.

THE STATE OF THE REGION

The state of The Fort is strong, but not so strong that we can stop paying attention. We have a lot to be grateful for: a growing pax full of High Impact Men, an abundance of AO’s with a variety of options, our longstanding commitment to all three F’s, a strong SLT and much more. We also must continue to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men. We must continue invigorating male community leadership. The Fort’s SLT are all volunteers whose lives have been deeply enriched by F3 and are committed to serving the PAX and Fort Mill. Whenever you have ideas, questions, concerns, or just a funny joke to share, let us know.

The Testament (Formerly Wild At Heart)

Hey guys! If you haven’t heard, the Wild at Heart series Q’s by @kaiser was a huge success! We had some great conversation and fellowship that lead to many sharing their hearts and becoming better men as a result.
Now that Wild at Heart is finished, this 3rdF AO will be known as “The Testament” and will be Q’d in a rotating fashion. We’re setting up a few bible study series with videos that will allow anyone to show up and be a part of the conversation (no pre-work needed) If you’re not already involved in a 3rdF event then this is will be the place to be!!
I will be taking the first Q for a 4 part series on Holy Habits. This is the concept of aligning your day to day activities with Gods will for your life. I’ll be sending out study guides before each meeting for anyone who wants to de some pre-work.

Come grow stronger in your faith along side your brothers!
6:15am every Wednesday at the Springfield clubhouse. Coffee is provided (and occasionally donuts!)

Konverging for Kenya

We are converging on 6/10 to host an epic beatdown @FMHS (fort mill high school) at 0600. 1 HR with a weinke designed by the PAX of F3 Nairobi! They will also be completing the workout as well.

The plan is to raise $$ to purchase a vehicle for transportation of PAX to workouts, supporting efforts to assist in community and coordinating donations etc. The need is tremendous and our financial support is magnified in Kenya.

Additionally we have submitted an application for a matching grant from the foundation. Not approved yet but hopefully it will be. Timeline would be mid June for the grant should it be approved! Lake Wylie and Rock Hill regions have been invited as well and are promoting in their regions.

Finally of course a tshirt is in the works and will hopefully be available for purchase before or at the event! Thanks PAX!!!

Litter pick up – Community Svc

March 18th is tentatively set as our first pick-up for the US21 adopt-a-Highway litter pickup! We will have 4 opportunities in 2023. Once a quarter is the plan.  All supplies provided ( bags, gloves, safety vests, pick up sticks, eye-wear, and fellowship) All that remains is YOU.
Plan for about 1 hour and 30 mins – 2 hours maximum. We will meet at the Harris street park around 7:45am.
We will walk up the hill to US21 and split up into 2 groups.  One group will head north to the Peachstand and back and the other group will head south to Sutton Rd and back.  (1 mile each direction)

We could use 10-12 guys to keep this an efficient and timely process. 2.0s and Ms are welcome as well as anyone who would like to participate in our community svc event.

Thank you to all who participated in 2022. Looking forward to seeing new faces as well as the HIM who assisted last year.

Dam To Dam Golf Tournament

It’s time for the 2022 Dam To Dam Golf Tournament Fundraiser. It will be at Waterford Golf Club in Rock Hill on Friday December 9th. 10:00 AM shotgun start with (Captains Choice Format). Also looking for some awesome raffle prizes to be raffled off at the golf tournament. Raffle tickets will be available that morning and throughout the day. 10 Years: The End of the Beginning

Hello, September! Back to school, Labor Day, football season, cooler weather (hopefully), Octoberfest (huh?) AND the anniversary of that day in September 2012 when a Shovel Flag was planted at WEP. So, let’s pick up the conversation from a few weeks back that started about our present state and expand on it.

The Fort started as an extension of Area 51, merely a new AO. At the time, there were no Mustard Seeds, no Leap Expansion playbooks, no Freed to Lead or Q Source books, no podcasts and only the earliest sense of what a region might entail (which was far beyond our reach). About a dozen Fort Mill FNGs posted and persevered through the workout alongside pax from Metro and Area 51. Thankfully, six of the locals returned. And in the years since, we’ve grown in every measurable way.

What’s notable about this story, however, isn’t the numbers or WHAT we’ve done. The real growth story of The Fort is about WHO we’ve become — each of us individually, as men, as humans. And I’m not talking about Fitness. I’m talking about a change of heart. I’ve seen Sad Clowns transform into dynamic leaders – in the Gloom, in families and in our community. I’ve seen men struggle through tragic health and life events, supported by fellow pax. And I’ve seen those same wounded men rebound to inspire and lead and impact others in remarkable ways. I’ve been inspired by men who’ve developed the courage to face their demons and wrestle with them in ways they couldn’t have imagined previously. I’ve witnessed more tears from pax in these years than from all men combined in my pre-F3 life. I’m sure you have your stories of this sort.

For me, this is the growth story of The Fort…a love story, really. Yes, what I describe above is a vision of men loving each other well. And spreading that love to their families and community. Our hearts have grown immensely through this journey. Mine has grown, and yours has too. Whatever we’ve “done” as a region, the ways we’ve “expanded” our numbers in AOs or Sites or CSAUPs, any “impact” we’ve had on our local community – 100% of it represents the fruit borne directly from the growth in the heart of each man among us. This personal growth — over the past month, year and decade — is the history I’m excited to celebrate this month.

Importantly, this celebration isn’t solely about the past. In fact, I believe it’s just as much about the future…because I know I’m not done growing, and I trust you’re not either. The Respectables among us are proof that we haven’t found the Fountain of Youth. But, we’ve definitely molded The Fort into a proven platform for invigorating men and Male Community Leadership. And I know our best days, as individuals and as a region, lie ahead.

So, let’s celebrate! Invite your M, load up the clown car, EH the FNGs and Kotters! We may be living in the Third 500, but we’re only closing out The Fort’s first chapter. SYITG!!!

10 Year Anniversary Party

As we approach 10 years of changing lives for men with capsized boats, let’s take a moment to celebrate and look forward to the next 10 years.

We will come together at The Print Shop by Amor Artis and share stories with fellow PAX, flux plagued potential EH targets, FNGs, M’s and just about anyone else you can identify.

#nospeeches just means that there will be no PowerPoint presentations, no microphones, no speeches… instead, we will focus on sharing stories with each other one on one or in small groups.

Please RSVP on the 2nd F channel as we will get private party status if we can hit 50 participants.
