Started under cover at 5 merkin sign
– bear crawl to squats, do squats and run back
– 5 merkins, bear crawl, 10 squats, bear crawl, 15 lunges, run back
– etc.

Got to 25 burpees. Then did 25 more burpees and bear crawled straight through the sequence but backwards.

Somethings you can’t just start working on. For example, stamina. You can only work on increasing stamina once you start to get tired. You can only work on toughness in adverse conditions. Take adverse conditions as an opportunity.

Block Building at Pantheon

Eight men showed up on a cold morning at Tega Cay Elementary school for the workout.  After a quick disclaimer, we ran around the carpool lane and stopped in front of the school for the following warm-up exercises:

Imperial Walkers

Plank Stretches

Next, we each grabbed a cinder block along with a ruck and weight vest.  We partnered up for a Dora-like workout.  Partner 1 had a choice to either run to the end of the parking lot or briskly walk with a weight vest, ruck, or cinder block to the end of the pillars and back.  Partner 2 started with the cinder block exercises and switched out once Partner 1 returned.

Once complete, we play catch me if you can around the carpool lane.  Partner 1 carried two of the cinder blocks around the circle while Partner 2 ran (fast) in the opposite direction to switch out with Partner 1.  It turned out to be a better idea on paper.

Next we finished out with round two.  We only got through a few exercises.

Rainy Block Party

@ESSO taking me away from my site to inflict some pain at WEP.  SOOO let’s mosey to a random parking lot for COP. The typical Lutefisk warm-o-rama containing windmills, imperial walkers, merkins, mtn climbers. mosey to nasty hill (you know the one). 10 squats at the top, 10 SSH at the bottom, nur up, run down. nice way to burn the legs.  mosey to the traffic lights, waiting for the signal let’s knock out 15 Makhtar N’Diayes.  On to the gravel lot for toe taps and some lot-length shuffles. Moving on to the downtown area as it starts to rain pretty hard. BTTW with peter parkers. Mosey to the building with a long undercover area. Team up, teams of 3. One partner holds a position, one exercise, the other runs the length and back. Flapjack each circuit until all have completed it once, then move to next circuit. These are not in order and that’s ok!

Pantheon Randomness

5 of us hung out in the gloom last Wednesday without a substiQ – so we made the best of it and split the Q.  Fish sticks made us run around the school (not a running AO!) and COP warm-o-rama.  38 made us run a circuit and cornhole finished with a leap frog laddering of the pillars where the first one there got to pick the 10 reps at each pillar.  Too bad Lutefisk can’t count right. It was supposed to be arms/abs/legs but after so long, who cares right?

8 Cinderblocks of Christmas

Always glad to take on a Q at the Abyss! Great AO.  6 Beasts + YHC came out for the Iron Pax inspired “8 Blocks of Christmas” Having Q’d 3 beat downs recently with no Cindys I felt it was time to call that number. Thank Goodness Copyright keeps an emergency Cindy in the van at all times. Otherwise someone would have been carrying a 25lb weight or a 45lb paver.

0515- All veteran Pax so quick disclaimer and a short mosey around the front parking lot.. Circle up for COP

Windmills x 10 Imperial Walkers x 20, Hillbilly Walkers x 20, MNCs x 15, Front and back Arm Circles x 15 each.

End COP with 21s- 21 SSH IC only counting the first 5 out loud, with all Pax stopping at 21 together. Burpee penalty if we get it wrong.  IT was real early cause there was still some audible counting after 5.  Needless to say we missed on the 1st go round. 3 Burpee penalty. Got it right on the 2nd round. Mosey to the truck and everyone grab a Cindy.

I have been nursing a hamstring the last couple weeks and decided to forego alot of running in this workout. So instead of running we did an OH Cinderblock Carry(OHCC) from front parking lot to rear track area. Mumble chatter started quickly on how long a walk that was.

The Thang -8 Blocks of Christmas                                                                                                                                 8 total exercises, 4 per side  with the mode of transport being the OHCC of ~80- 85 meters.               Exercises

  1. 50 x OH Presses  OHCC to other side 1a. 50 x Curls for the Girls OHCC back to other side ( you should get the picture)
  2.  50 x Block Squats OHCC —>2a. 50 x Block Big Boy Sit ups- No it was holding the block not setting it our your feet.
  3.  50 x Ground to OH –> 3a. 50 x Squat Thrusts
  4.  50 x  Block Swings —> 4a. 50 X Switch Arm Block Merkins- 1 hand on the the block 1 a hand on the ground and do a merkin- Switch and repeat. Thanks for that great Idea Survey Says.

We completed then Whole Thang and OHCC back to COT.

All in all the Pax did in the ballpark of 1100 meters of OHCCs and 400 cinder block reps across 8 exercises this morning. Key takeaways- Cinderblocks get really cold when sitting the the back of the truck all night. Get thicker gloves.  The feeling comes back in your fingers around GTOs and Squat Thrusts. Copyright can always be counted on to have at least 1 “emergency” Cinderblock in the van at all times.

Prayers for CAH and Decibel’s mentoree.  Pax/ family of Pax dealing with Cancer/ family loss, marriages.

PreHype for Jan 3rd Shovel Flag hand off at he Swamp.  Beatdown will be kicking off at 0500. Co-Q event with a fast and burpeeish 30 mins and a hard and heavy 30 mins. Spread the word. Plan accordingly.

What is your Mission?

Theme  – Do you accept your Mission?  17 HIM came to the Armory to accelerate!  After a short warm up and Mosey to the front of the church, we all took a moment to share our one word for 2019!  The question this morning ” What is your Mission?  Thank you to Bass-0-Matic for sharing  this Bible plan  – I am a Warrior – Part 1  –  A 3 day Plan by Dr. Kim Kimberling.  This was shared with all the Pax : Only a small portion of the “Devotional” but I think it resonated throughout the workout!

What is your mission? Where is God calling you to be a warrior? Are you ready for the battle?  Honestly, the missions are all around us. We live in a culture that fights against God and His purposes every day. Do you have children? Your mission is to instruct them, to lead them, and to protect them. As a husband, your mission is to fight for your marriage in a world that does not value marriage. Your mission as a Christian man is to stand firm for Jesus not wavering in the daily battle. Your mission is to be a man of integrity and honor that stands out from the crowd who is not afraid to stand out. In your workplace, your mission is to not cut corners or to cheat someone or to do whatever it takes to make a buck or two. Your mission is to show Jesus to a world that does not know Him very well, if at all.

Wrapped up with some Fun : Circled up for a modified Mary – where one Pax gave the group an exercise  – then grabbed 2 Cinderblocks for a quick 100 yd out and back (more like 50yds but 100 sounds better! )while the other Pax battled thru exercise until the Pax came back!  Rinse and repeat our way through the group  : Ran out of time about 1/4 thru this FUN – Headed Back fo COT:  Blessed and Humbled to lead this Morning – Fogerty!

A Little Of Dis And A Little Of Dat

Despite the cold temps, thirteen HIM decided to get out of the old fart sack and accelerate their Thursday morning. It was a good opportunity to remind everyone that it was cold out and not to stick your tongue to a flag pole. Disclaimer was given and we were off.
Quick Mosey and we circled up. Exercises were done in reps of 20.
  • 20 Side Straddle Hops
  • 20 Windmills
  • 20 Low Slow Squats
Right off the bat, we bear crawled around the covered semi circle. Once the six were in another mosey over to the far parking lot.
  • 20 Plank Jacks

  • 20 Bib Boy Sit Ups
Moseyed over to the back of the school for some wall work.

A challenged the group to take some time out and focus on what is really import over the upcoming weeks. The birth of our savior.

Moseyed/Toy Soldiers/Lunges over to the front of the school where two cones were setup for a little Jack Webb. The loop was about a quarter of a mile in total and we had a cone setup on each opposite end. We definitely got some miles in on this segment.
