Identify vs Armor

YHC shared from the heart — not advice, just something real. Sometimes courage gives another man permission to set his armor down. The focus was on identity — how childhood experiences shape us, and how facing them head-on leads to growth and freedom.

Many of us carry old wounds that taught us to shut down emotionally. Those patterns can follow us into our leadership, relationships, and fatherhood. The truth: our identity isn’t defined by the world or our situation, but by Christ. When it’s built on Him, it’s unshakable — built on purpose and longevity that forges character.

Through this process, YHC shared lessons learned:
• Identifying lies vs. truth
• Setting healthy boundaries and learning to say “no”
• Becoming decisive as a husband and father
• Letting go of people-pleasing
• Finding strength through faith, family, and brotherhood

The journey isn’t over — but progress is real. Growth means discovering strength in the struggle, and realizing we do have something to offer.

Takeaway:
Your foundation determines your resilience.
Your story might be the permission another man needs to heal.

What costume are you wearing?

We did a little warmup with the usual exercises. I proceeded to introduce the topic for thought. What costume are you wearing? Are you being an imposter?

Mosey over to the first stop for some 4 corners. 3 exercises then a lap around the parking lot. Kinda went like this merkins, mtn climbers, shoulder taps 10,15,20. Take a lap. Squats, monkey humpers, calve raises 10,15,20. Take a lap. LBCs, American hammers, flutters 10,15,20. Take a lap. Side straddle hops, over head claps,Moroccan night clubs 10,15,20. Take a lap. Mosey to the next spot behind Lowe’s. Rail work with dips, irkens, derkins with a bear crawl across lot. Headed to the wall for some sitting and merkins. Back to COT for the finale. Wrapped it up with we should be putting on the full armor of God and not covering ourselves up with costumes. Eph. 6:12-24

Prayers/praises
Pauly D’s mother-in-law losing SNAP benefits, ST’s former co-worker who passed away unexpectedly. Praise for F3!

I’ve been Qing workouts for 13 years, and signing up to Q this workout was kind of a big step for me. I shied away from rucking and sandbag workouts for a long time because I was afraid of aggravating my bum knee (arthritis) and my aging shoulders. About a year ago, I decided to try it, and so far, my body seems to tolerate the stress. These workouts are challenging and I struggle with them at times, but I love them. I hope today’s workout met the standard that has been set at this fine AO. Thanks for joining me today <@U088CUMTQ05> and <@U08NJ8FF1PF>

Wheel of Misfortune and too many reps

Since I was going to be DR for my birthday, I decided to do my birthday Q a day early. I wanted a good one and didn’t realize how good it was.
WARMUP: SSH, windmills
THE THANG: We picked up Cindy and took her down to the elementary school playground. Around the loop, about 15-20 yards apart were 6 stations.
They included:
10 OH Press
25 Decline Merkins
25 Curls
25 Squats with the block on your back
25 Big Boys with the block
25 Chest Press
25 Bent over rows
Run around the playground.

My intention was to do 420 reps, but we all know what happens when we try to count when we are working out, so we ended up with 3 rounds of 480 reps.

MARY: Everyone called something for the last 5 minutes
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Read your newsletter. Lots of opportunities to give back.
COT: Prayers for a good 43rd trip around the sun.
