Traditional Bootcamp

WARMUP:

In moderate pace, side squats to field, then moving side straddle hops, bear crawl, seal jacks, crabwalk, press jacks, then repeat flight backwards to parking lot fence.

THE THANG:

We completed 7 flights of 5 themed exercises in each flight of plyometrics, mixed martial arts, cardo-broga, dirt dog, and lower body followed by a few minutes of ballistic stretches to close.

There was no running, no burpees, and no merkins which was intentional as it seems a down and dirty bootcamp is non-existent these days…so, I led one.:beargryllz:

THE THANG: Mosey to band lot, HIIT workout. 45 seconds work, 15 seconds rest. 4 rounds of each. Merkins, Squats, Burpees, Mountain Climbers. Mosey to Pull up bars. Try to get 4 sets of: Pull Ups – 5, Dry Docks – 20, Big Boys – 20, Diamonds – 10. Mosey to front parking lot for Mary.
MARY: All X25 – Flutters, Hello Dolly, Freddy Mercury, Rosalittas, Box Cutter. Mosey back to COT for cool down stretch.

THE THANG: Traditional body builder focused workout with the goal of complete muscle exhaustion to precipitate growth. The heaviest weight was used possible with a maximum of 5 reps with perfect form. Each target muscle flight started with a pre-fatigue movement without weight focusing on squeezing the muscle followed by a movement breakdown of lower target, upper target, full range motion. Then three, five second negative sets followed by a 15 second isometric or power hold to blow out the muscle. Each flight concluded with a plyometric exercise accompanied by a targeted muscle exercise again. The Weinke floated away several times!!

Inaugural Jaeger

Beautiful March weather (seriously it was a perfect day) for the 0800 launch of the Eröffnung Jäger. PAX were assured by Grinder that the routes were well marked and there were no Zima-miles. This proved to be 99.9% true (you could still get lost if you wanted to…)

The premise was solid. 4 man team (2 Ruckers, 2 Runners). Runners had longer routes and teams met at checkpoints for team exercises before they could head to the next station. The pain stations were tough. Lutefisk about killed the PAX at the first one. (Oh, that was just me?) Triple Lindy had us loading munitions. Cake Boss brought candy, but it was not a sweet treat. (Could have also been that the leg leading to Alison Park was soul crushing….) Tinsel forgot it was a CSAUP and thought he was prepping for a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs wresting match.

8.) Lake Wylie’s Wild Thing drinking Whiskey and enjoying a Big Mac (great to see these guys from across the bridge here for the CSAUP)

Afterwards at the Print Shop, we celebrated the Dam 2 Dam fundraising effort where The Fort is sending $7,500 to Defend the Fatherless, $7,500 to Autism Strong, $7,500 to the Fort Mill Care Center, and $10,000 to the F3 the Fort endowed scholarship.

It is an honor to be part of The Fort alongside some amazing high impact men. On behalf of Grinder and the entire planning crew, this backblast is respectfully submitted by the smallest cog in the Jaeger machine—Band Camp.

The Wheel of Wow

It was a dank morning in The Fort as 18 men decided to make the hard choice and accelerate their Friday!

We warmed up the engines quickly and then moseyed over to the Wheel of Wow for a high dose of pain.

Wheel of Wow:
Eight cones with a different KB exercise at each cone. The timer was a 40 count of reps on the battle ropes. We rotated around the wheel, and at every third cone we ran a lap.

Back to COT for prayers and praises.

Adventure through the Isometric Inferno

WARMUP:
Hoist three 50# sandbags on your shoulders and mosey to the office.

THE THANG:
On this adventure, we exchanged the sandbags every 75 yards ( est. ) and rotated them from shoulders, to left shoulder, right shoulder, front shoulders, waist carry and bear hug carry.
1st stop: The office – all rotated twice through a 30 dead hang on chinup bar, dip hold, plank hold, and low squat hold with rucks on and/or holding the sandbags on our shoulders.

2nd Stop – we advanced into the middle earth of the mtn bike trail in front of Gold Hill Middle and stopped and dropped the bags at some benches and cycled through rounds of a 1/2 dip hold with right leg hold crunch, then decline 1/2 merkin hold, then 1/2 dip hold with left leg hold crunch and then another decline 1/2 merkin hold.

3rd stop – we practiced teamwork in moving the sandbags across the Gold Hill nile river system and scaled the Denali like and gravel based hill to the electrical substation. We each chose a very attractive tree for 20 low slow squat row tree humpers.

Olaf drew our eyes to his exquisite trail markers along the way salvaged from historical snow plow extractions from the road.

Introducing the Office

WARMUP: disclaimer
THE THANG: took a tour around the outer perimeter of the Manliest AO in the Fort. We stopped at what is now referred to as “The Office” where each man did a weighted pullup while another man stabilized the pull up station by holding a dip. After each man did their rep @Flounder decided to show us all up with preforming 3 weighted pull ups at the ripe old age of 76. We made one last lap around the VA and made it to the base of the hill by cycle bar where we took turns calling squats while passing a baby sandbag around the circle. Introduced the hillbilly squat: a deep squat followed by two hillbilly walkers. Then sprint up the hill to COT.

THE THANG: Run to Wally World via 160 left on stone crest until hit Model A. Then do BASS which consists of 5 burpees, 20 American hammers, 10 squats and 10 SSHs. Run back to COT do exercises again and repeat back to Wally World. Just a little over 4mi.
