Gear Workout at The Ballroom

Have not attended the Ballroom in a while so browsed through backblasts to see what the guys at this sight have been doing for the past couple of months. Did not see any gear show up in the BBs, so thought I would remedy that situation.

WARMUP: Led the group on a mosey around the COT parking lot as this is the loop we would run periodically throughout the workout. Ended the mosey at the 1st station set-up in a parking space. Performed SSHICx21, then proceeded to explain the exercises at all 12 stations. Time to work.

THE THANG: Brought out the gear and set-up 12 pain stations. PAX were asked to partner up, Partner #1 performs the exercise at the pain station while partner #2 runs the loop we practiced in the warm-up. FlapJack when partner #2 returns. When both partners have completed the exercise at the station they move on to the next one. Did not instruct the PAX to go in any particular order, they could pick and choose pain stations as they pleased. Most of us completed 16 stations and got in about 2 miles. Great Work Gents!!! Exercises & Gear listed below.

Start with Station #3

Last time I Q'd the Kitchen Sink we only used 1pc of gear. Needed to up my game for this Q to live up to the name Kitchen Sink, gotta bring more gear, so we used 3pcs. this go around – Ruck, SB, & KB.

WARMUP: Started with a mosey around the COT parking lot loop mixed in with the usual suspects, stopped and formed a circle back at COT for more of the usual warm-up movements. Time to work.

THE THANG:
3 stations were set-up around the COT parking lot loop. Instructed PAX they would need to carry all gear to each station. Upon arriving at a station, you can unload. Each station consisted of a buy in/out exercise and various other exercises with 1pc of gear. After completing the buy-in, list of exercises, and the buy-out, load up all gear and move to the next station. Continue until time is called. Stations are described below:

Station 1 — Exercises w/Ruck
· Buy In/Out – ManMakers x 10

  • Ruck thrusters x12
  • Ruck On squat jumps x12
  • Ruck On Alt Backward Lunge x 12 ( 6 ea leg )

Station 2 — Exercises w/Kettlebell
· Buy In/Out – Merkins w/ KB pull through x 10

  • KB swings x20
  • KB Alt Snatches x20 (10 ea side)
  • KB U-Hauls x20

Station 3 — Exercises w/Sandbag
· Buy In/Out – SB Overhead Press Toss x 10

  • Sandbag bear-hug squats x12
  • Sandbag ShouldertoShoulder OH Press x12
  • Sandbag DeadLift to Cleans x12

Everyone made it through 2 rounds on this muggy morning. FishStix said we covered a little over a mile and then suggested we should add one more piece of gear. Will take this suggestion into strong consideration for next time! We started with station #3 because YHC did not pay attention when setting up the stations prior to the workout. Found out it's not about where you start, it's how we finish that is important.

MARY: No time

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Read your NL! Stuff the Bus this Saturday, Bethel this Thursday, etc…

Dark Helmet

WARMUP:
THE THANG: We did a couple of loops around the Kingsplex, with some bear crawling and crawl bearing in honor of the Other Band Camp (@UGU3XR5RP – not present), some running up Textile Hill, and lots of NOT stepping on the grass…
We wrapped with a Mary tribute to Iron Balls McGinty. All in all, it was real nice time…

Moleskine:The mumblechatter was on point this morning. Pollo’s balls dominated the list of topics of discussion… whether it was that they were encased in metal, or being eaten by handsome crabs, we all now know too much and will need to scrub our brains.

MARY:
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
COT: Prayers for many things and a call to give to Living Waters International…

Go do some freaking good today. You're way more capable of it than you give yourself credit for.
