Brew Ruck 2.0

After an acclaimed success during our first Brew Ruck, our PAX have been asking for a second edition and it’s final coming to a brewery near you!! Custom patch is in the making…

We will be launching from Amor Artis at 1800 on Friday May 13th, first stop will be 1873 brewing, second stop will be Replay Brewing, third stop will be Grapevine and we will end the route back at Amor Artis. We will stay on sidewalks and we’ll cover 6ish miles total.

This event will serve as a farewell for our brothers Longshanks and Royale that will be moving out of town soon going after their new paths in life. These HIM’s impact has been very valuable for The Fort and Lake Wylie and have made us all better in more than one way.

This is a free event, but will be Buy YOB at the stops. (Until someone decides to buy the PBR 99 cans pack) Don’t drink beer? It’s ok, join us for the camaraderie!

Weight in your ruck is up to you, reflective bands on your ruck are a must. Bring a headlamp.

Don’t have a ruck but want to join? Just let me know, we have plenty of loaner rucks.

Don’t miss this great 1st and 2nd F opportunity.

Tinsel out!!

Art for a Cause

Art for a Cause!!

Invigoration of male community leadership…..F3 The Fort.

In light our beloved brother and ruck-master Divac’s incredible efforts towards something dear to his heart, AMRAP for Autism, two amazing pieces of artwork were commissioned to and completed by our very own artist extraordinaire and beloved brother DaVinci. Each realistically captures a ruck and F3 water bottle ready to go to work, and would be a great addition to anyone’s man cave, office, game room, all-things-ruck display case, or elsewhere. If you have a patch display – imagine one of these pictures above or next to it, or with patches around it!  But instead of keeping these for ourselves……and it is VERY tempting…..BOTH of these will be raffled off to TWO lucky PAX to benefit Autism Strong Foundation’s AMRAP for Autism.  The combo of DaVinci’s talents, Divac’s D2D, and NASA’s ruggedly good looks (and gift of admin) resulted in a match made in Heaven that YOU can be part of too!

The deets / rules / regs:

  • Each piece is 9in x 12in picture, matted in an 11in x 14in frame
    • Brown background is conte pencil media
    • Color background is watercolor paint media
    • Both signed by the artist
  • Raffle ticket purchase starts 05:00 EST Saturday 4/30/2022 and runs through midnight EST Saturday 5/21/2022
  • Drawing will be held on 18:00 EST Sunday 5/22/2022
  • Cost of raffle tickets:
    • $25 each
    • 5 for $100
    • 8 for $150
    • 12 for $200
    • 13 or more: $16 each
    • No in between ticket quantities
  • How to purchase raffle tickets:
    • Venmo: @Eric-Ransone, last 4 of cell is 1794
    • PayPal: @EricRansone
    • Be sure to include your full name, F3 name, cell phone number, quantity tickets, and a small love note to NASA in the notes of purchase/money transfer
    • Confirmation / notification of payment received will be sent via text
    • You can notify NASA via text at 407-902-1794 if you want to let me know it’s coming
  • Each raffle ticket purchase will be for an opportunity to win either picture, but not both
    • If a duplicate winner is picked after the first drawing, a new name will be drawn for the second picture
  • Winners do not get to choose which picture they want
    • First picture to be drawn for is the one with the brown background
  • Drawing will be held either via electronically (electronic raffle pick means) or via old school printout and hat drawing, pending number of entries received
  • Drawing will live streamed on Facebook, follow NASA (Eric Ransone) to get the feed
  • Delivery / pickup of pictures to / by the winners will be determined once winners contacted after drawing
    • If non-Fort Mill and immediate area resident, shipment will be arranged accordingly
  • ALL proceeds from raffle will be donated to Autism Strong’s AMRAP for Autism!!
    • Delivery method of funds to A4A is TBD and may be live streamed as well, or just a simple electronic donation on behalf of The HIM of F3 The Fort.

Please consider purchasing a raffle ticket. Each ticket matters! According to the Centers for Disease Control, autism affects an estimated 1 in 44 children in the United States today. The Autism Strong Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization who provides local children with autism financial aid scholarships for therapy services, summer camp, and young adult weekend away experiences.

It is more than a workout.

YOU can be part of this worth cause! Thank you, good luck, and SYITG!!

RESPECT-able Coffeeteria May 4th

  • QIC: Double D
  • When: 05/04/2022
  • Posted In: Pre-Blast

Calling all Respect class PAX to (a) mark your calendar, (b) pick your brain, (c) share your views and (d) listen with an open heart.

TIME: 0620 to 0700
DATE: Wednesday, May 4, 2022
LOCATION: Kingsley Fire Pit

THE THANG: Respect PAX only Coffeeteria

WHY: You are living in a 43 Feet phase of life that is new to you and new-ish to F3 Nation and The Fort.  Most of you made your 1st post when you were in your 40s.  You’ve grown to become HIMs by persevering through years of DRPs, CSAUPs and 2nd and 3rd F gatherings into your 50s.  You’ve made major contributions to The Fort and its men, and as a result, to the communities across York County.  F3 and The Fort have become a cornerstone in your life.  You want to continue to rely on this cornerstone for years to come (maybe even forever!).  That’s the vision we share — all PAX share this vision, but ONLY YOU are on this 43 Feet section of the road forward.  How do we bring this vision to reality?

PREPARTION: Reflect on these topics prior to our gathering:

  1. What is needed in The Fort for you to remain fully engaged in 2030?
  2. How can you contribute to the sharpening of newer/younger PAX to ensure the sustainability of The Fort’s culture and the Acceleration of all PAX?
  3. What should The Fort’s SLT know that might not be on its radar today?

OPPORTUNITY:  This is not a mandatory gathering.  It is open to all PAX 50+ yrs old with (i) a heart to explore these questions and (ii) a commitment to acting on the outcomes.

SYITG!

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY/HELP NEEDED – Fort Mill Care Center

PAX,

As many of you know, we have had the privilege of mowing the grass at the Fort Mill Care Center. This spring will be our 7th season. Many of you have stepped up after hearing of this important need for this service. The Care Center does not have a budget for lawn maintenance. All of the funds available go to help their many clients. In addition to the lawn care, a few PAX took a Saturday to construct a shed to house the two mowers we have donated. The effort has not gone unnoticed. Through all of our efforts we have received many messages of thanks.

We are asking for one HIM to take over the leadership of this weekly project. We’d like to hand this off to someone who has a heart for what is happening at the Care Center. The essentials include the managing of the signup genius, promoting it weekly and the supervision that the job gets done each weekend.

Please give this some thought and reach out to me for more details. There is a sincere satisfaction of knowing we are making a difference as a small part of a vital community resource.  Thanks to all of you for your help over the past six years.

The workout has been designed with the option of being for a bootcamp or a gear/kettle bell workout.  The first exercise would be for a bootcamp and the second for a gear workout.

After warmup, partner up.

Each set will have stats about mental health and workplace mental health.  The workout will be in the form of a Dora 123.  As you are working with a partner (No OYO), each stat is doubled.  After all three sets are complete, if you have time repeat sets until time is up.

F3 The Fort – Adopt a Highway (#2)

****March 5th 2022- 7:45am – 8:00am****

Men,

We have officially signed up for the Adopt-A-Highway Litter pick-up program.  Our adopted Highway is US21 from Peachstand south to Sutton Rd. (2 miles). We will have a sign installed to promote this section of the highway.  We are encouraged to complete 4 pick-ups a year (once a quarter).  All supplies will be provided.  All we need to do is show up.  The SC DOT will come out and pick up our bags along the route after completion.

**Our NEXT Clean-up date is tentatively scheduled for March 5th. (start time )  7:45 am – 8:00am**. There is no time expectation for participation.  Stay as long as needed or head out early.  Modify as needed. Plan for 2 hours if you complete the 1-mile loop.  We split up into two groups last time and met at the halfway point.

We will begin at the Peachstand (rear of the building) and coordinate.  I have 30 vests and all supplies.

Fogerty will be the main contact for this event over the next two years.

Here are some of the logistics:

• Make sure your group knows that in case of bad weather the cleanup will be postponed. Litter collection should never be done in the dark or in bad weather.
• Notify local news media who may have an interest in publicizing your group’s activities. • Remind your group of the appropriate clothing. Long pants and long-sleeved shirts and sturdy shoes help avoid scratches and irritation from poisonous plants. Light or brightly colored clothing will make them easily visible to passing traffic.
• Be sure you have all the materials and supplies you’ll need beforehand, including first aid kits.
• Check with members of your group to be aware of any allergies that might be important (such as bee-stings, etc).
• Work out a plan for what you will do in the event of an emergency. Find out what the quickest route to the hospital is.
• Park vehicles at both ends of the adopted section.

• Volunteers must be at least 13 years old to participate in Adopt-A-Highway cleanups. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult on all Adopt-A-Highway cleanups.

The state does provide adopt-a-highway orange and blue bags.  Orange bags are for trash and blue bags are for recyclables if you want to recycle.  Your group is also provided with orange safety vests.   We do require four pickups every year, usually once every quarter.  All that is needed to be done after trash is picked up is to call or email me and I will send one of our crews to pick up the bags.

It is volunteers like you who are going to make a difference by speaking up and doing what they can to help their community.  Please let me know If you have any questions, I will be glad to assist you.

Thank you,
