Cadential Extension at Quagmire

Glad to be subbing in for Shady this morning.

Had originally set an AMRAP plan for Quagmire PAX to ponder. However, there was an FNG present, so I decided to modify a bit so we all stayed closer together.

Moseyed towards Tuesday Morning
Warm up in cadence
-SSH
-IW
-HW
-A little yoga

Moseyed towards CVS
-more yoga
-shoulder taps
-squats

Moseyed a bit for The Thang
Did all of these in cadence
-25 Merkins (50 total)
-50 Squats (100 total)

Set a timer for 7min
AMRAP
10 Burpees
25 High Knees
I got in 4+ rounds. Pretty sure Copyright got 5. #King

COT:
With an FNG posting, I like to reflect on F3 core principles and mission. Added a little thought about where we were when we started F3. I couldn’t run a mile without stopping. Wasn’t gonna happen. Grateful for other PAX holding me accountable and helping spur me to be better: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Welcome FNG Slider

3 minute Rounds, Pianos and Dreams were the talk at Block Party

Interesting start for Block Party as the PAX rolled up I mentioned to Bobber I was a little tired from a dream I had moving a piano.  Weird thing was that Tesh and Dark Helmet were helping.  It got a little awkward when Tesh showed up. You had to be there to experience it.

Quick disclaimer and intro and off we went into the gloom for our first parking lot stop and the warmup.  Usual stuff nothing outta the ordinary except for the continued piano discussion.  Off we went to the next stop to the Pike lot where we started 3 minute intervals.  First round was 10 merkins, 16 Mtn. Climbers and 20 shoulder taps and a burpee stack at the end.  Rinse and repeat for 3 minutes.  Brief 10 count at the end and mosey to the next stop right in front of main street. There we did 3 minutes of wall sits.  Not a good idea but we did it anyway.  Next 3 minute round was 10 big boys, 16 American Hammers and 20 flutters.  Another burpee stack after the exercises.  Mosey up the stairs to parking lot near the playground for next round of legs 10 squats, 15 monkey humpers and 20 calf raises.  Mosey back down to the wall for more sits.

Head back to COT for wrap up.  Thanks Bobber for the opportunity.

Kept it simple today:

Mosey for a while:

10 IW
10 HW
Some Yoga

Mosey towards Kohl’s

One round in the front of each store:

Been working out on what my overarching principles are… As I brainstorm, I see more that to be the human I want to be, I’ve got to choose to do the hard things.

Wet Burpee Miles in the Minnow Pond

It rained. 5 bravely showed. One knew what he was in for from F2 the night before.

No stretching. Jogged to previously laid out cones on Confederate St. Burpees Miles: jog about 1/3 mile to furthest cones (from near police station to almost Banks St), do 10 burpees, sprint to inner cones about .05 distance, jog, repeat. After 2 rounds, improvised to countdown burpees by one.

Returned for a round of individual choice ab work.

Do good things. Support good men. Support good deeds. Base your decisions on what you consider your #1 priority. Recognize the bad; don’t support it, don’t make excuses for it and do what it takes to make it better.

If you’re ever feeling down or depressed, consider getting out and helping others. Your giving can hange your outlook and help recognize what you have that others do not.

Saturday, October 2 Anniversary gathering. Stay tuned for details. Schools doing well, kids behaving well. Help support Cash’s family in GoFundMe.

ISI DORA at The Armory

It has been 1 year and 5 days since YHC last Q’ed at The Armory. Quite a few fond memories of the AO… including almost splashing merlot under the leadership of Assassin. Always a privilege to be asked to lead such a fine establishment. The cars just kept rolling in this morning… and luck would have it that an even number of PAX showed up. A few newer faces appeared and YHC was happy to be introduced.

ISI DORA

Tell PAX to partner up with someone of equal “shape” or “fitness.” PAX 1 does exercise, PAX 2 moseys out and back to a determined point. Both PAX keep number of reps secret from one another. Once the specific movement is completed, disclose number of reps. PAX with lower number of reps does a penalty exercise to make up the difference. Other partner planks in the meantime. The goal of this is to push your partner to do more reps than you. To run faster than you. To push them to push you. To sharpen each other.

Round 1 – Lower

Announcements

The Fort has a birthday coming up! Look out for info on Slack.

Alcatraz will have the most mumble chatter ever as Stang and Trucker co-Q this Saturday.

Prayers/Praises

Truckers 2.0 – injured and cannot play football at the moment – pray for his spirits to remain high as he navigates a tough situation.

Pray for our children – especially those who are most impressionable right now by every message being thrown at them. Nature Boy said it well that he’s at a point in his life where he and his peers are most susceptible to influence from outside sources.

Prayers for we as fathers to lead our children on the right path while they navigate their daily challenges. Prayers that we can push them on toward Christ.

Today was fun. It involved much sharpening and the group in attendance was quite encouraging. Props to Band Camp for keeping up with Tesh, to Dirty Harry for not splashing merlot, and to Singlet & Nature Boy for literally sprinting every time I saw them running. Oh to be young…

Thanks UHAUL for the privilege to lead.

Punch List out.

Take no fish/prisoner

22 showed up to get better….22 left better (more tired like YHC, but they took the red pill today).  Pledge of allegiance was properly performed, very short disclaimer (I think) but 5 core principles were done for the FNG…YHC tried to wait for what he was told about 2 PAX coming in HOT only to realized they were already there.  Upon that notification, we were off at a 7 min pace.

We ran down Academy street to the open parking lot by the top of the hill before we got to all the churches…did some planking while we waited for the 6…counted off to make sure we started and left with the same number.  At this point, YHC explained the drill and early route.

  • 10 – hand release merkins
  • 20 – squats
  • 30 – American (no, not russian twists) hammers

We did these in the parking lot, ran down the hill, were greeted from the Footloose PAX (welcome FNG) with some proper form (I guess) monkey humpers.  Very nice call Trucker – brownie points…  We ran to the corner of Tom Hall where we did our 10, 20, 30 – then ran to Hardees for another 10, 20, 30.  Waiting for the 6 we planked…as we should.  Once all PAX were in attendence, YHC instructed the PAX to run up Spring St and cross over to Unity where we would do 10, 20, 30.  At each “up and over” (basically creating an L), we would perform the exercises at either Unity or Spring depending on the up and over…always doing the exercise at the “over” cross street.  Once we reached Summersby (all the way in the back of the neighborhood), we ran back to Hardees.  Due to bad time management by YHC, this caused everyone to run all the way back to COT so you’re welcome for the non-rest.  Sorry, not sorry.

At COT, we named our FNG – Trickle (welcome!!).  D2D race for announcements which sold out in about 5 hours to the surprise of everyone.  Prayers and praises – we had a little of both.  Overall, just the right amount of suck but we got better and that’s the goal.

Shady out (thanks Shanks for the gap in schedule!)

Dealing cards at the Block Party

Just a heads up that this BB will be low on words (atypical for me) but hopefully, motivating for you to go try this.

Here’s the deal, simple yet effective was my intent today. For those that did the Bert at Honey Badger yesterday, this was a good round 2. The deck of cards entered my arsenal roughly 5 years ago and it’s been several months since they’ve made their way out to the gloom. That ended today.

14 men showed up today with the “threat” of rain (we had 2 ruckers join us at the end for COT).
Seeing a few new faces, check.
Disclaimer, check.
Mosey some distance making our way to a parking lot for a few warm-up activities.
Mosey to another parking lot in an effort to keep our voices from carrying over to “the house.”

For those not aware how this goes, each suit represents an exercise. Each number represents the number of reps 2-10. Jacks=11, Queens=12, Kings=13, Aces=14.

4 Jokers = 25 4ct Flutters
Diamonds = Mountain Climbers
Clubs = Jump Squats
Spades = Diamond Merkins
Hearts = 8ct Burpees

That totals (100) 4ct flutters and 104 each of the other exercises.

Until next time
