Band Camp took the hill

Very delayed in writing this but since Band Camp finally came to a ruck workout and keeps ‘reminding’ me about it, I’ll try to remember what we did.
Ruck up and grab sandbags and head over to small field for some sandbag relays. Grab everything and head over to base of heart attack hill. Partner up and split taking sandbags up the hill. Drop the sandbags at the top and head back down. This trip up no straps. Suitcase, fireman, overhead, however you want to carry your ruck up the hill. Almost lost Tinsel to hills namesake bit his BP finally came down. Link the sandbags together for team weight. Everyone rotated on and off to help carry the weight most of the way back to COT. Times almost up so break apart the sandbags and huff it back for COT. Thanks for the Q opportunity Divac! And I promise next year when Band Camp returns the back blast will be prompt.

Let’s Try That Again…

After double booking a few weeks back… River Rat was able to get me back on the schedule to continue Rucktober into November… Ruckvember? The truck was loaded down with coupons, and we showed up on time. Check, check.

Now it’s time to work. We grabbed a few sandbags and one Jerry can and headed off into the gloom.

There were three of us – so an improvisation was made. Drop rucks.

Pax 1 farmer carries two rucks, two other pax drop for 5 burpees. Up and sprint to Pax 1, swap position. Repeat for a lap. (Sprocket is faster than he looks, by the way!).

Grab two sandbags, no rucks. Pax 1/2 move forward while Pax 3 does 10 bomb jacks. Catch up/swap. Repeat for a lap.

Grabs rucks and sandbags. Pax 1/2 move forward with both while Pax 3 does 3 8-count body builders with ruck. Catch up/swap. Repeat for a lap.

Time was nearing expiration – so we headed back to COT.

Ended with 5 Ruck American Hammers IC.

Adventure through the Isometric Inferno

WARMUP:
Hoist three 50# sandbags on your shoulders and mosey to the office.

THE THANG:
On this adventure, we exchanged the sandbags every 75 yards ( est. ) and rotated them from shoulders, to left shoulder, right shoulder, front shoulders, waist carry and bear hug carry.
1st stop: The office – all rotated twice through a 30 dead hang on chinup bar, dip hold, plank hold, and low squat hold with rucks on and/or holding the sandbags on our shoulders.

2nd Stop – we advanced into the middle earth of the mtn bike trail in front of Gold Hill Middle and stopped and dropped the bags at some benches and cycled through rounds of a 1/2 dip hold with right leg hold crunch, then decline 1/2 merkin hold, then 1/2 dip hold with left leg hold crunch and then another decline 1/2 merkin hold.

3rd stop – we practiced teamwork in moving the sandbags across the Gold Hill nile river system and scaled the Denali like and gravel based hill to the electrical substation. We each chose a very attractive tree for 20 low slow squat row tree humpers.

Olaf drew our eyes to his exquisite trail markers along the way salvaged from historical snow plow extractions from the road.

There’s a hill here?

I was late. It’s a long story. Happy to tell you any other time

WARMUP: Olaf took the PAX that were on time to the FW parking lot for some stuff that YHC missed
THE THANG: Hustle down the hill and hit the very dark trails. YHCs light is in the other car so it was fun navigating the gloom. No matter. We got to the hill by the GHMS lot and up we went.
At the top bear crawl both ways across the street and 20 4 count flutters with press.
Down the hill and 20 4 count ruck curls and overhead presses. Repeat up and down with same reps.
Bottom of the hill we head back and stop at each bridge.

Then it was time to airport power-walk back to CoT. With the last 300 meters a ruck run to meet up with the STL crew

Sack of poo

Ruck 3 1/4 miles at sub 18 minute pace (3 laps around Kingsley)
Stop for 50 step ups and 10 merkins each lap in front of Carolina Ale House.

Of particular note: there are a lot of poo bags in front of LPL. It seems that some of the locals go through the trouble of bagging their dog poo, but just leave the bags around. Perhaps a community cleanup/beer run is in order?

Some Shield lock bros were walking around holding hands. It was adorable.

Cold + mumblechatter (whiners) = SlowBurn

The cold and the complaining was out in full force this morning. Great effort by … most

The first thing I did when I got home was was my sweatshirt, with my Weinke, so you get the cliff notes …

Warm-up:
The pattern was 1. exercise on your feet 2. exercise on your 6 3. exercise on your feet 4. exercise in the plank position 5. rinse/repeat

We did stuff like: imperial walker, hillbilly walker, Travolta, shoulder tap, SSH, LBC, Mahktar N’Diaye, squats, sumo squats, Morrocan NC, OH Claps. Stuff like that. Mostly in dozens.

Then onto the those exercises that were rejected by the nation’s Exicon
Patrick Swayze: Karaoke L, Karaoke R, Power Skip, NUR with arms out
Jonah Hill: 3 broad jumps, 3 merkins, 7x
Matt Foley: 1 animated squat, 4 dying cockroach, 2-8, 3-12, 4-16, 5-20

Then a round of Assassin suicides, squats, imp walkers, OH claps, or something like that, super easy

Over to 4 corners where some actual did the work and some walked from corner to corner chit chatting
15 BB Sits, 15 Jump squats, 15 bombjacks, 15 merkins, 5 flying squirrels in the middle

To the wall for a sit and 2 burpees from each end, rinse/repeat
