Ken Walkers Ankle and other assorted topics.

3 of the Fort’s finest joined YHC for a rainy and cold morning at the Golden Corral

To keep the PAX dry I mosey’ ed us to the brand newish pavilion over by the Grace church. We performed the following:

15 SSH
15 MNC
15 Seal Jacks
5 Windmills
5 burpees (the only burpees we did today)
15 Mt. Climbers
Stretch

The main workout was a Tabata style format with 35 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest. We had 3 rounds of 16 with 4 different exercises executed each round.

Round 1
Merkins
Squats
LBCS
Flutters

Round 2
Diamond Merkins
Lunges
Freddy Mercury’s
Leg Lifts

Round 3
HR Merkins
Calf Raises (modified from jump squats since YHC’s knee was acting up)
Big Boy Sit-ups
American Hammers

Got back to COT about 40 seconds late which is on me.

While at COT we made the usual announcements (Read the newsletter!!!) but during the prayers and praises portion we were all able to share and discuss a common experience we have all had in our lives. It’s always a great reminder in these small groups just how special a community we have here in the Fort. We had 4 guys from 4 very different regions of the country with 4 different backgrounds who shared a common experience and could be open about that with other men. It’s moments like that that reinforces why F3 matters and why I still show up and still post after (almost) 4 years.

Thanks for the call Slow Jams! Until Next time!

NMM
Days like today remind us of the value of friendship. Today would have sucked if I were left alone in the Gloom. I would’ve probably quit early or stayed in bed had it not been for a commitment to the men waiting on me. When things get tough and you want to quit, how will you ACT?

Are you Accountable – can you be relied upon?
Are you Committed – will you finish what you start?
Can you be Trusted – does the team know you have their back?
We are known not but what we say, but what we do/how we ACT. These men keep me on track. They help me ACT right. And I’m thankful for them.

Aye!

Runway down

5 at The Hive, what more needs to be said?!?!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Actually, no, it wasn’t the worst of times at all. YHC showed up to preset some lights, but the gate dividing the FMHS campus was closed for this first time ever. So, there was a quick audible and YHC set up some lights and cones on the hill down to the handicapped parking lot, which most PAX don’t even know exists. But for future reference, that hill sucks.

1 red herring light at the top of the entrance driveway
4 lights along the handicap driveway just out of sight

Warmup – yes, that’s an important part preceding physical activity. Do one, slacker.

Thang:
Bottom of the hill:
Farmers carry up to cone one
2 swings
Farmers carry up to cone two
2 swings
2 snatches
Farmers carry up to cone three
2 swings
2 snatches
2 racked reverse lunges
Farmers carry up to cone four
2 swings
2 snatches
2 racked revers lunges
2 squat thrusters one arm
Farmers carry up to cone four
2 swings
2 snatches
2 racked revers lunges
2 squat thrusters one arm
Farmers carry up to top
2 swings
2 snatches
2 racked revers lunges
2 squat thruster one arm
2 manmakers

Then we did the full sequence
2 swings
2 snatches
2 racked revers lunges
2 squat thruster one arm
2 manmakers
Every time, but bear crawling down and then back up the hill.
Cone 1 – full sequence
Cone 2 – full sequence
etc.

Went to the red herring cone just for fun and did 20 Single Leg Deadlifts. Then COT and some Mary. I’ve already written too much and nobody will read this BUT………

NMM: nobody would have known that I had to audible. Just carry on with your plan, and act like you meant it.
