uncle visits Currahee

Was greatful for the opportunity to lead since I’ve been on the IR with my foot. Minimal miles were the target while still trying to improve mental toughness in the PAX.
WARMUP: BOSSmen special. Super slow windmills, Plank, honeymooner, downward dog, merkins, runners lunge, slow deep squats, hula hoop, hoop hulas.
THE THANG: moving around the front soccer field loop with various modes of rucksack carrying until someone says “Uncle”. Then we perform an exercise until someone says “Uncle” then we continue moving around the loop until someone says “uncle”.
Various exercises were performed and many modes of carry were performed. See screenshot of Weinke
MARY: hip strengthening was on the agenda so we did the airborne cycle. Also did 100 airplanes, more core than desired but necessary.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: most reps were counted to 9 to symbolize that even when you’re not 100% you can still show up and do work.

Round Up the Cattle

Since it’s The Ranch, I wanted to do something Yellowstone-inspired. This was my attempt. I can’t say my “best attempt” with a straight face.
WARMUP: Run a lap around the campus (about .8 miles), then some SSH and Windmills
THE THANG: Lots of rounds of Catch Me If You Can. This was designed as a partner workout, but we modified it since there were only three of us. One person did the exercise below, and the other two ran around the drop-off loop until catching the person doing the exercise and switching off. Since there were only three, we got way more miles in than anticipated, but as I was a substitute Q and today would have been my run day, this worked out well.
Lap 1: Bear Crawl
Lap 2: Karaoke
Lap 3: Burpee Broad Jumps
Lap 4: Lunge Walk
Lap 5: 5 Merkins, take 10 steps
Lap 6: Duck Walk
MARY: American Hammers, Gas Pumpers, Flutters, LBC’s
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Light on announcements as we start the school year, but we are looking for it to pick back up as more D2D Fundraisers begin to pop up.
COT: Stays in COT

Tortoise and Hare pre-yog

Accepted this Q invite before I realized it was same day as the Tortoise and Hare CSAUP. No worries – all bad decisions can be compounded with other bad decisions so decided to let her rip.

A few PAX were out running already when we started. For normal start time PAX, 2 went trails and 5 hit the streets.

Trail – enter kingsley and immediate right – continue to dogwood and stay right on dogwood all the way to Cantrell ave where you will get on Muscadine. Stay course until you get to Azalea where you will find your way back to the spillway. you will hop on Haigler and go around lake and get to timberline and bring you back to Kingsley and back to CoT.

Road – get on 160 and dodge traffic over I77. Left on sutton rd then right on front st into baxter. Continue onto settlers height/Stratford run/harvest point until you reach the end. Turn around and come back

Thanks for the opportunity to lead!
