Reduce Reuse Recycle

having been put in charge of both of our running with push-up AOs this week, I decided to make them entry level. it does not mean easy, it just means easy to understand what is required to do. to that end, I decided to recycle some of the easier to follow Qs in which I have participated.

the word, recycle and reuse together often. remind me of a program I saw in fourth grade. you may have bag memories of being hurted into your elementary school gymnasium in order to see what amounts to a public service announcement or little skit or play put on by a bunch of kids , maybe a small performance by the 5th graders who got to start orchestra. but the one I remember most vividly is being brought to that sad little gymnasium to watch a dude dressed up as McDonald’s mascot and Ronald McDonald caper about singing about reducing reusing and recycling. somehow they burned half an hour of our day listening to Ronald McDonald it’s founding on the virtues of mineralism in a 1980s world where everything was designed to be thrown away immediately after use.

WARMUP: the pledge of allegiance
THE THANG: run to Hardee’s. pair up. run opposite directions saying the block. On the east side (post post office) do 5, 10 and then 15 partners BBSU. Then 15 every time. continue running until meeting up at or around the Hardee’s lot. where you at 5, 10, 15 partner pushups. after the pushups, run the way you came back. this way each partner gets to run both directions around the block multiple times. sort of like a weird freaking Newton cradle
with about 4 minutes left PAX were gathered and Bandcamp led burpees while YHC perform the exhausting job of keeping an eye out for stragglers
MARY: 30-45s of flutters while YHC grabbed my phone
ANNOUNCEMENTS: duties were assigned to Funhouse
COT: duties were assigned to Funhouse

On like Donkey Kong

Warm-up lap around the carpool line with ruck only. Circled back to pick up sandbags and headed to the Amphitheater. Carried bag and ruck to first level, 10 ruck swings. Followed path back down to the bottom with ruck only. Bear crawled back to bag, carried both to second level, 15 squat thrusters, and back to bottom with ruck. Bear crawl back to bag, carry both to next level, 15 man makers. One more level, kind of like Donkey Kong without the flaming barrels. Bear crawl to the top level, flutter with ruck overhead, 25 in cadence,
Next, we traveled back to the front of the school with ruck and sandbags. We each took turns moving the sandbags between the cones, about 50 yards while the others performed exercises with their rucks. When it was my turn to move the sandbags, I called man makers and quickly changed the exercise after the “Debbie Downer” faces from the other pax. We did arrived at the flag a bit early so we finished up with man makers.
Great job everyone!

Dancing at the Ballroom with all my Rowdy Friends!!!

WARMUP: After a brief discussion on where to get the best sliders on the EC ( it’s in Jersey of all places ) we got after it.
All in cadence – WMx10, CPx10, HBWx10, OCx10, MNx10
THE THANG: We moseyed to the back parking lot in front of the baseball field. Completed 20 SSH in cadence waiting on the 6. Island to Island was the distance, used the 2 parking lines forward, conduct 1 rep of an exercise then go 1 line back and conduct the same exercise. 1st round was bear crawl moving forward and crawl bear moving backwards with 1 merkin completed at every line. 2nd round was alt lunge walk moving forward, alt backward lunges to move backwards with 2 squats completed at every line.
Had enough of that parking lot so we moseyed along the winding road heading back to COT. Of course, we stopped to do some dancing with DORA. Shortened the running distance to make it a SPEEDY DORA, partners completed 100 merkins, 200 LBCs, & 300 Flutters(SC).
These guys were crushing it so we had time for another routine. Headed to the benches at the school entrance. 1 PAX was the timer while all other PAX performed an exercise. The timer was 10 burpees. Rotated 3 exercises as we moved down the line with PAX performing their 10 burpees – Step-ups, Gerkins, & V-Ups.
These guys don’t quit so we had time for more at COT. Asked the PAX to think of a physical weakness, then think of an exercise they will perform for 1 minute to strengthen that weakness. Battlebot definitely picked the most interesting weakness. You gotta show to know.
After the minute of pain was up we sat down and concluded the final 3 minutes of our wo time together with stretching ( something YHC doesn’t do nearly enough of ).
MARY: Didn’t need her as we practiced our 2 step and then danced with DORA.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Bethel Men’s Shelter serve on 11/2, fundraising events, READ YOUR NEWSLETTER!
COT: Closed in prayer. Just wanted to say this was one of the most uplifting, encouraging groups I’ve had the privilege of leading! Loved every minute of it! Thanks for the opportunity Boogie Down!!!

It wasn’t a basketball court but it will do

WARMUP: just ran around the school and then took a bonus lap around the long loop….. people were questioning whether this was a running AO. Small circle: Windmills, Slow Low Squats, Merkins, Mountain climbers, Merkins, Mountain Climbers, Morracan Night Clubs, Squats, Seal jacks
THE THANG: Ran to end of parking lot and made make shift basketball court for the purposes of line drills (formally known as Suicides). We ran 50% and then did an exercise. We continued to do this until I ran out of things to do and the clock got close to 6. We finished with a “full” parking lot line drill and a circle for some stretches to cool down. Everyone enjoyed the Burpees and the fact we were as slow as our brothers.
MARY: Too good at time management to need this…
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Bethel Men’s, Dam to Dam, probably something else…
COT: Prayers for children in our schools, marriages
