Riding Dirty at Stockade

YHC was humbled by the opportunity to Q at the Stockade. This week I have been revisiting old BBs from Rock Hill in anticipation of my Q there this weekend. I stumbled on to the 1 year anniversary Q by Dredd and OBT which included (4) Dirty McDeuce by OBT along with some vulnerability about his recent deceleration of his fitness. I felt inspired by his courage and the difficulty of the workout so I brought it to the Stockade.

WARMUP:

Run to the side of HT for some warmup

Jack Webb Baby

WARMUP: mosey to ace. Totally hacked up names of most of my warmups. But, cadence was solid and we did 41 SSH’s.
THE THANG: Mosey to Dunkin parking lot where some how Senator looked as graceful falling as we all looked working out (not surprised).
Jack Webb 1:4 merkin/plank jack until we hit 36 plank jacks.
Mosey to COT. Jack Webb 1:4 CDD/air press (kinda sucked especially on the knees). Mosey to church. DORA – 100-merkins 100-squats 50-Burpees. Partner loop was mode of transport. Mosey to stinky trash bin (not stinky today). Mosey to Teeter side wall for wall sits and burpees. Made it back to COT at 0600 on the dot.

Gear WO at The Stockade

WARMUP: Short mosey around the COT parking lot followed by SSHsx25inCadence, WMsx5inCadence, HWsx5inCadence, CPsx7inCadence, IWsx5inCadence, next moseyed to our lifting stations where each exercise was explained, then we went to work.

THE THANG: Set-up 13 stations, partnered up, partner #1 runs the loop while partner #2 performs the exercise at the station until partner #1 returns, switch, upon partner #2’s return the partners move to the next station. Stations are listed below:

1. 10lb weighted ball – V-Ups
2. Heavy Rope – Rope swings in a squat position
3. 45lb Ruck – Curls
4. 35lb Dumbbell – Snatches
5. Ab Wheel – you know what to do ( I did provide a pillow for the benefit of our knees )
6. Cindy – Side Lunges
7. 60lb SandBag – Front Lift to Backwards Toss
8. 45lb Plate – Flutters w/ a press
9. 20lb weighted vest -Alt. Reverse Lunges
10. Cindy – Swings
11. 45lb Dumbbell – Squat while alt arms to pick up weight
12. 12lb Dumbbells – Bent over Tricep Extensions
13. 45lb Plate – Bent Over Rows

Back to the Ruck

WARMUP: Intro, disclaimer and we are off. Walked to the back lot for the first warmup. Rucks on for 15 reps of MNC, Micheal Phelps and circles. Then we head around to the Amphitheater. More warm ups with rucks off. 15 reps of winds mills, produce pickers, updog, down dog and then rucks on. Bear Crawl up the hill and crawl bear down. Then, back on the road.
THE THANG: Made it back to the rear lot to use the islands for a DORA.
1 parter
100 bicep curls with ruck.
200 squats rucks on
300 Flutters with ruck.
The other partner runs with their ruck on around both islands.
Repeat…
Message about fatherhood and remember to sit back and take mental pictures of your kids to remember those moments. Back to COT.

And then there were hills

WARMUP: Intro and mosey to the church parking lot. Complete 15 reps of MNC, Micheal Phelps and arm circles. Then mosey to the day car parking lot for some None Discrpt Produce pickers, Hill Billy Walkers, Imperial Walkers and Wind milks. Then left to mosey down the hill to the entrance to the apartments.
THE THANG: Instead of a full Pendulum workout, we did 7’s on each hill. The first was to run up the hill and do 1 merkin and come back down for 6 bomb jacks. Rinse and repeat until complete. The I spoke about struggles lately and then started the 2nd hill. Run up to the fire department to do 1 burpee and run back down for 6 Squats. Rinse and repeat to complete the 7. Started walking back to COT and talked about JFK conspiracies.

“Because it induces movement, leadership causes Disruption”

PAX were disrupted from their planned morning workout to make sure both Qs saw all the PAX and to push them outside the complacency zone of their established routines. With the leadership, we should expect disruption and embrace it.

Leaders influence movement towards advantage. Disruption is a solid technique to induce movement.

“If a man calls himself a leader but does not cause Disruption by initiating movement, then he is not practicing leadership. He might be doing something else, like managing or governing, but he is not leading.”

It is not the goal of the new SLT members is not to manage or govern. It should not be the goal of the Site Qs to manage or govern. Let’s lead!

F3 is not an organization with leaders, but an organization OF leaders. Each man is freed to lead. The particulars of Site Qs and the SLT structure is nice, but let us not be afraid to disrupt when we have a vision for advantage.

Grunge isn’t classic rock

WARMUP: Did some side straddle hops, imperial walkers, hillbilly walkers and Moroccan nightclubs and then mosey over to the church lot

THE THANG: Tabata 40 seconds on with 20 seconds off. Got through about 2.5 revolutions. Topic of discussion was “is classic rock its own genre of rack from the 70’s/early 80’s, or is it anything more than 20 years ago?” Apple voted the latter and included Plush by STP on the classic rock workout playlist. I vote the former however…

Exercises included: LBC, Merkins, Squats, Mountain Climbers, Donkey Kicks, Dips, Side Straddle Hops, Nolan Ryan’s, Bix Cutter, Plank Jack, Lunges, Dry Docks, Bobby Hurleys and American Hammer

Sterilization

WARMUP: Mosey to the backside of HT to enjoy the smells and do some warmup exercises – SSH, windmill, imperial walkers, hillbilly walkers, cherry pickers, Moroccan nightclub, merkins.
THE THANG: Mosey back to front parking lot. 7 of diamonds but with 3 corners instead of 4 so 7 of triangles? First lap was 7 merkins at each corner, 14 squats at each corner, 21 flutters at each corner, and then 28 LBCs at each corner. Mosey to side of HT for wall squats with bear crawls and crawl bears while we all mentioned a goal, word, or area we were working on this year. Mosey to auto shop and then dora – 50 step ups (each leg), 100 inclined merkins, 125 dips and then mosey back to flag.
MARY: American hammers, hello dolly, and some frog workout which felt like gas pumpers.
