Flexing

We spent most of our time on challenges that @Mainframe “could have accomplished 20 years ago.”
Notes: @Peta needs a side career doing voice overs
@Joe Lyons (F3 Long Duck) is actually from GA, which makes the bulldog thing understandable
@Slapshot and @fishstix stayed towards the 6 to make YHC feel like the workout was challenging
@SouptoNuts brought a co-worker (Joe Blow) along to commiserate. He name dropped @Royale_F3
@photobomb and @Badlands were psychic on the lack of running and got more in on their own. For an extra fee, they’ll do tarot card readings
@Sprocket is considering building a company based around puzzles of Mark Rothko paintings
@Shady & @Esso seemed enamored with how many picnic benches you can fit under an awning

Kept it light on running as recovering from giving blood apparently takes me a long while. Spent a lot of time on mobility and leg exercises. And hey, you can learn a lot on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuLyss7FkFc

The pistol squats after a ton of lunge walking pissed guys off. 🙂

THE THANG: Partner merkins x20, flutter kicks x20, partner leg throws x15; Windmill merkins x10, flutter kicks x20, partner leg throws x15; Partner merkins x20, flutter kicks x20, partner leg throws x15; Windmill merkins x10, flutter kicks x20, partner leg throws x10 — a little extra Mary mixed in.
Mosey to the apartments- complete dynamic warmup including hamstring sweeps, walking RDLs, deep lunge walks, toy soldiers, high knees, butt kicks; BACKWARDS sprints up the hill towards the fire station x4; Last sprint was a challenge- each pax had to surpass their previous stopping point before tagged by YHC, otherwise the group was subject to an unknown penalty (probably burpees)… no one will ever know because the threat of penalty motivated everyone to sprint backwards that much faster!
We discussed THE IMPORTANCE OF RUNNING BACKWARDS at COT. If you’re getting some miles in with your fellow pax and they’re dogging it for whatever reason, it’s important to be able to run backwards faster than they’re progressing forwards, look them in the eyes, and say whatever motivating (or demeaning) statement to give them a kind gut check! SkateOrDie knows this too well from YHC.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Pints & Padres tonight!
COT: Beaker’s son turns 4 today. Prayers for physical and mental illness among the pax. Prayers/praise for Halfshell’s boys heading to camp.

We sweat like crazy in the Gloom and let the familiar soreness settle in as the fireworks lit up the sky to honor our forefathers and our fellow Americans. Grateful to have been born in the USA and to share this life with my F3 brothers. May we stay United and foster Unity with those we meet each time we leave COT and enter the world around us. All about Mark’s Ass

This morning started innocently enough. Good group of PAX showed up and as we were about to get started Change Order mentions his butt was sore from all the squats and lunges yesterday. So we mosey over to behind the tire shop to warm up. He immediately says he’s not sure he can do step ups on the wall so we start with windmills…then do step-ups. It all pretty much went downhill from here. Series of exercises using the wall: windmills, step-ups, SSHs, derkins, squats, inkerins, mtn climbers, more step-ups, overhead claps. From there mosey to the far end behind the center, past the ever-ripe dumpsters, for some shredder sets.

First set – 10 hand release merkins, 9 mtn climbers, 8 hr merkins, 7 mtn climbers…..down to 1 mtn climber then finish with 10 hr merkins.
2nd set – Legs, more Change Order mumblechatter: 10 squats, 9 lunges, 8 squats…..1 lunge then 10 squats.
3rd set – 10 hello dollies, 9 freddie mercs, 8 hello dollies….1 freddie merc then 10 hello dollies. Keep feet off ground for entire sequence.

Mosey up to parking lot in front of church. Series of cards on far end of lot. Each card has a group exercise and a hold exercise. While 1 PAX runs to get card, rest of PAX do the hold exercise. Then when PAX returns we do the group exercise. Group exercises were 10 burpees, 15 diamond merkins, 15 jump squats, etc while hold exercises were plank punches, squats, SSHs, etc. However it worked out the first couple of cards were mostly leg exercises so Change Order was really happy to talk about his ass soreness some more. Finished a round of this and then moseyed back to COT for a few abs. A little light on the miles today but we got in everything else. Thanks for the opportunity to lead today Slow Jams!

601 Finals Week!!!

Nice cool morning for the 4th and final edition of siteQ school. As with the other days the theme was Stewardship. In short, how are we as SiteQ’s acting as stewards of F3’s mission, our fellow PAX, and our actual Sites.

We moseyed to the elementary school where we ciricled up and asked the assembled Site Q’s what is F3’s mission. Slow Jams impressed by quickly noting it. I then challenged them all on what our credo is and what are our 5 core principles.
I think repeating what our mission, the credo and the principles is fundamental in reminding us of why we do what we do.
After a brief discussion on what it means to be a steward of our respective sites : leave no trace, be mindful of risks, plant the flag etc… We got to work. (since it is a workout afterall)
Stewardship of Site
30 second Tabata with 10 second rest 4 rounds. ( 2 shoulder 2 leg) The series is to do one rep of a “base” exercise then follow it with a single rep of another exercise and then increase reps as the time goes on. So 1 merkin to 1 tap increases to 2 merkins to 2 taps…3 to 3…4…to 4… and so on until time expires.
Shoulder Series by 1
1 Merkin to :
Shoulder Taps
Peter Parker
Mountain Climber
Hr Merkin
Leg Series by 1
1 Squat to:
Lunges
Calf Raises
Jump Squats
Step ups (if available

After I smoked everyone’s shoulders We talked about the importance of siteQ’s role in making sure both tenured PAX and especially newer PAX or FNG’s are taken care of at their sites. Meaning, picking up the 6, explaining terminology, introducing yourself to newer ppl, and ensuring we are creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere. We then got to more work. This series was focused on core so we did 1 to 4 ratio. 3 rounds.
Stewardship of Pax
Ab Series by 4
1 BBS to :
Flutters
Feet to Ground LBCS
Freddy Mercury
Hammers

After the Core series and looking at the clock I moved us quickly back towards COT but we did partner up and did a quick catch me if you can with merkins and bear crawls..up a hill. Because why not.
At COT I had us do a quick 5 burpees OYO and then got into the final piece which is the stewardship of the mission. How we as SiteQ’s can help influence the mission by how we run each of our sites.

I encouraged pax to read the detailed SITEQ guide that Fishtix put together and then closed us all out with announcements and COT.
In Lieu of a prayer I closed it out in a moment of silence and a final thought…that for all of us to remember that somebody…somewhere…is looking at YOU not only as an example…but as THE example for something. Don’t’ let that somebody down.
Thanks for coming and the opportunity!
