Identify vs Armor

YHC shared from the heart — not advice, just something real. Sometimes courage gives another man permission to set his armor down. The focus was on identity — how childhood experiences shape us, and how facing them head-on leads to growth and freedom.

Many of us carry old wounds that taught us to shut down emotionally. Those patterns can follow us into our leadership, relationships, and fatherhood. The truth: our identity isn’t defined by the world or our situation, but by Christ. When it’s built on Him, it’s unshakable — built on purpose and longevity that forges character.

Through this process, YHC shared lessons learned:
• Identifying lies vs. truth
• Setting healthy boundaries and learning to say “no”
• Becoming decisive as a husband and father
• Letting go of people-pleasing
• Finding strength through faith, family, and brotherhood

The journey isn’t over — but progress is real. Growth means discovering strength in the struggle, and realizing we do have something to offer.

Takeaway:
Your foundation determines your resilience.
Your story might be the permission another man needs to heal.

Chilly breezy

12 friendly pax showed for possible drizzle/rain conditions for a run thru downtown Baxter to the River and back. All enjoyed with no drizzle.

Discussed upcoming events and shared praises and prayer concerns largely regarding family. Elderly parents, kids finding their way… heavy loads that we are going through.

Praises for the fellowship and the get to of being able to be together and push each other. Good fellowship this morning.

Buckets (again)

WARMUP: We warmed up

Went to the now famous buckets workout.

Three buckets were placed around Kingsley. Upon arrival the packs found various exercises on paper slips that were pulled from the buckets at random. The goal was to spread the buckets around so that we got at least a mile if not a mile and a half of running for the workout.

Included in bucket 1:
Box cutters and burpees
Mtn climbers and grave diggers
Donkey kicks and merkins
LBCs and dying cockroaches

Bucket 2:
Donkey kicks and squats
Calf raises and Weezy Jeffersons
Butt kickers and Peter pointers

Bucket 3:
Burpees of various counts
Shoulder taps
Lbc’s

All thoroughly enjoyed. Good news…I believe they will all continue to post at the Fort.

Many thanks to the President and CEO of gloomschedule, <@U08G28Z7E> for the opportunity.

You will have to make hard decision that negatively impact people you care about

You will be disliked despite your attempts to do the best for the most

You will be misunderstood and not always have a chance to defend yourself

ANNOUNCEMENTS: read that newsletter – lots of ways to get involved

NMM – Closing thought – Upholding standards requires sometimes being unpopular. As leaders – we must be diligent in our assessment of how we carry and live up to those for our homes, families and communities we serve. Tell someone about what standards you are trying to uphold. Our effectiveness in doing so is only as good as our accountability measures in place.

NMM
We lift heavy so that we can carry heavy things – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Men who prioritize training are resilient and reliable, and as such, everybody wants what they have. But you have to learn to say “no” to some things. If you pour out everything you have, you will have nothing left to your family or for yourself.

Also, know that you have a brotherhood to help you shoulder the weight. You’re either going through it, just went through it, or will go through it. When you get overwhelmed, ask for help. You are needed, desired, and loved. Don’t let temporary problems cause you to succumb to a permanent solution. Talk, listen, share, and care. We need you. Your family needs you. And your community needs you.

Aye!
IJ
