The Beast has Awakened

The Tomahawk was awaked and is not pleased with what it sees. This fabled AO is riddled with mystic and lore. Did it ever exist? Was there ever really an F3-Indian Land? Where did it go?

YHC is here to tell you Tomahawk was too much for this modern world. It was a place where men wore weight vests for the 5-mile pre-runs, then did kettlebell work outs for cool downs. I can assure you, the worst stories you have ever heard are watered down at best.

We are getting soft, and mushy. We talk too much. We lift things that weigh under 30LBS. We video stuff and talk about trendy topics.  It’s time for a rebirth by fire. Tomahawk is coming back to take teeth and kick names. There will be no fluff. Leave your Lululemon at home.

Launching 2-22-23 we will begin a Legends series where you can expect to see the royalty of AO pasted. YHC has an abundance of devilish delights for the coming months…so stay tuned.

There seems to be a vacancy at Catawba Ridge so we will plant our flag there and reclaim what is rightfully ours. You got what it takes?

Wait..what?!?

WARMUP: @Double D kicked us off with a disclaimer and quick mosey around the parking lot before we circled up to do a handful of warmup-y type exercises…I would list them out, but can’t recall exactly what we did as (unbeknownst to most of the PAX) I was more concerned with concealing the speaker I was carrying for my portion of the Q.  Kudos to @Pusher for noticing. I do, however, recall the group providing the 5 core principles of F3 as we had an FNG EHd by @OldBay

THE THANG: After warmups, @Double D mentioned the theme for the day, which was Adaptability and Agility and then handed off his Q to YHC.  I proceed to expand upon Adaptability and Agility and the need as leaders to be both Adaptable and Agile as there is always something that comes at us unexpectedly.  We then proceeded to mosey to the Lowe’s parking lot where we circled up for 15 mins of EMOM (every minute on the minute) of the following exercises:
1 burpee
2 lunges each leg
3 merkins
4 low squats
5 SSH

*Music started off on AC/DC radio and switched halfway through to 90s Hip Hop to accommodate @Pusher’s musical preference.

The PAX then mosey’d to the top of the hill by the gas station for a few plank jacks before moseying back down to the lot for what started out as a quick broga session that didn’t feel right due to the 90s Hip Hop, which was adapted to a 16-PAX circle of PAX-led mary.

MARY:

Heroes from Gettysburg to Ukraine to Fort Mill

In the spirit of MLK, who fought for peace and justice, we tapped the history books to honor another minister from the battlefield. Fr. William Corby served for 3 years during the Civil War as chaplain to the 88th New York Infantry, which was one of the five regiments of the Irish Guard. He was at Gettysburg and a statue there memorializes his blessing of the Union troops on the 2nd day of the battle. His unit originally included 3,000 troops, and started the battle with 500, only to lose 200 to death, wounds or MIA. Fr Corby went on to become the president of the University of Notre Dame 2x later in his life.

WARMUP: SSH, Mtn climbers, Peter Parker, Parker Peter, Carioca, Toy soldiers, Butt kickers, Run, Nur

THE THANG: In honor of Fr Corby and his regiment, we did 88 reps of three exercises as follow:
Round 1: Run lap then do 22 burpees (4 cycles)
Round 2: Run lap then do 22 Squats (4 cycles)
Round 3: Run lap then do 22 Mahktar N’Dyaes (4 cycles)

MARY: Flutters, Freddys, Box cutters, Big boys, LBCs, American Hammers, Planks

ANNOUNCEMENTS: D2DB 10k Jan 28; Murder Bunnies game 3 Wed 7p, Weekend in woods event in Blue Ridge, VA in late Feb
