Chillin’ at The Fort

Chilly morning at The Fort, five men showed up for the fun. We began with a lap around the park, stopping at each swing for some warm-up exercises.
We moseyed to the top parking lot for some dips and arm circles. Back down to the amphitheater for a Dora session – Merkins, Squats, LBCs. Next, fast lap around the park, stops at each swing, merkins, squats, and LBCs – 10 each. Added bonus, first one to arrive at swing had to do 5 burpees.
We finished up at the amphitheater with two laps around with boulder over head and sprints up the hill near the power plant.

At the end we all did a cute jump through a prop which is part of the Christmas decorations :smiling_face_with_3_hearts:

A 3/4 mile figure 8. Top loop = 3 right turns, do 5 bombjacks at each right turn. Bottom loop = 3 left turns, do 5 merkins at each left turn. At the cross in the middle of the figure 8, do 5 burpees.

I got 5 laps, some got 6.

Lesson of the day, masculinity is earned. Time to go earn those callouses.

The ladder was more than enough to get to 7:15am. Bowser Jr and I just barely got to the 20 Calf Raises on Curb.

Additional Notes about COT: There were qty: two 2.0s. Bowser Jr, age 9 and Tap Out age 11. During COT, I sent them away from the group to have their own COT. This allows for a safe time for adult men to share and be open with things that they might not be comfortable saying around children. I put Tap Out in charge, and I gave them the following discussion questions:
– Who is your best friend, and what do you like about them?
– What are some ways that you can be a better friend?

Dirty McDeuce and Joe

WARMUP: Brief COP to loosen up, esp for Short Sale after flying in middle seat back from Greece.
THE THANG: Main Event was a Dirty McDeuce sequence filled with various Merkins, squats, lunges, core and of course four runs between the 4 sets of 3 exercises. We covered N, S, E, and W on the runs.

Wrapped up with 90 secs of Burpees to ensure Old Bay met his USDA RDA for those.

1. Partner up – run laps in opposite direction of partner, every time you meet , 10 merkins, 10 diamonds, 10 big boys. Complete 3 full laps.
2. Indian run back towards COT
3. Star ladder? Burpees in the center, then squats, lunges, flutters, and hello dollys at their corner. Start with 1 burpee in the center with 5 reps at the corners, returning to the center each time. Then move up to 2 and 10, 3 and 15 etc.
