NMM:

You ever just 3000% took care of everything and crushed it by all outward metrics, but you didn’t do it with JOY in your heart? So your wife, kids, or close friend noticed and it wasn’t the reaction you expected…even though the mission was fully accomplished

It isn’t enough to just do a good job

Handle the mess your kids created with success, but did it in a way that made them feel scared rather than safe? Failure

Take care of business for your family, but made your wife feel like it was a burden rather than a mission? Failure

Maybe it’s just me… 😉 Good thing failure is a way point and not an end point. Let’s stay after it!

How to use a stopwatch

Yes, it was raining at the ballroom. However, the most noticeable item was trying to figure out how to use the stopwatch on my iPhone. Through multiple failed attempts old Bass suggested that I ask Siri to do a timer for us which pretty much worked flawlessly.

We took a quick mosey to the only dry spot we could find down by the football field. Then moved into our series of Amrap exercises with a minute timer for each set. They started out as follows, wide arm merkins, regular Americans, mountain, climbers and shoulder taps all 10 reps each. The next set was leg exercises which included squats, sumo squats, calf raises, and monkey Humpers the next set included LBC‘s Weezy, Jefferson‘s American hammers and flutters. The final set side straddle hops jump squats overhead collapse, and Moroccan nightclubs did a few exercises in between, but mostly stayed with these four different sets. We stayed mostly dry until we had to head back to COT in it downpour on us we finished up with some abs and it’s about it.

It is what it is!

As is typical of YHC, I wanted to do some ladder work at the Ballroom to keep the Pax moving today so I researched old backblasts for ideas. While not original, I love reading the old backblasts to see the Pax, the mumblechatter and the work being done. I stumbled on a few good ideas from Fogerty and Cake Boss but settled on a Bonsai from 2022 that included over 700 reps which I thought was appropriate for our 1st sub 30 degree day this Fall.

WARMUP:
After a thorough disclaimer, we commenced to Indian Run to the track with the 6 doing 5 merkins and then sprinting to the lead.

We circled up in the track/football field parking lot for the following:

SSH x 30
Cherry Pickers x 10
Seal Jacks x 20
Windmills x 10
Plank Jacks x 20
IW x 15

We moseyed to find a gate that was open so that YHC could deploy the Weinke.
