Help us help you at PHOP.

As a gear workout that has really stressed getting back to the gear, this is especially important as Rock Hill has recently launched a more traditional running/boot camp workout at Boom Town Central and numerous workouts at The Fort, Alcatraz, Indian Land, etc.

I’m looking to add to our arsenal.  We currently have tractor tires, 30 lb cinder blocks, heavy buckets, and a heavy chain.  Specifically I would like to add some sledgehammers.  I intend to purchase a few, but would like to see if I can get some from my fellow HIMs.

We are also open to any and everything that you have in mind such as battling ropes, 45 lb cinder blocks, chains(we have 1 already), etc.

And as always, come on out and enjoy the heck out of our gear. You can contact me or anyone in a leadership role in Rock Hill and we will make arrangements.

Yours in gloom,

Dawg Pound

Apache led us through an invigorating 56 rep 4-count side-straddle-hop. We looked more like a Richard Simmons video!

They mosey’d on their merry way and we mosey’d to the fire escape at Tillman Hall. Up and down the stairs, 25 LBC’s, back up the stairs and 31 LBCs, back up the stairs one more time. Then we did a few back exercises to complement all of the ab work.

Some people need a date way out there to train for. They need a shirt. Pre-runs, pre-rucks and all sorts of nonsense. And then sometimes, you find a CSAUP lands right in your lap. This would be that time. There’s no shirt and there’s no patch. It’ll happen and no one will probably ever know you did something cool. But that’s the beauty of it. The guys (and gal(s) this time) that you did it with? They’ll know! I know, you’re interested. You’re like, Zima suggests a lot of stupid things. Some I want to punch him in the face for (#Longshanks) but some have been the best 1st and 2nd F times in my short F3 life. Let me tell you…this will be 50% fun and 50% sucky. You should join us. I’ve got HC’s from some high quality PAX. But let me stop here and let you know what’s happening.

What you need?
-30# ruck or 20# if you’re WWL/Repeat (<150#) #petite
-Positive Attitude

When: This Tuesday Night, 1800
Where: Trailhead Park (Tega Cay)
What: Start rucking until you hit 20 miles

Highlights: Baxter Starbucks, Hobos, Waffle House, QT, Good MumbleChatter

We'll be moving at approx. 18 min/mile pace for 6 hours. We'll have about 1.5-2.0 hours of rest at the above mentioned establishments. End time is between 1-2 AM.

You read this and your first instinct is to say "No"! How many times did you say no to F3 before you posted? It's all good. We might do it sometime next year. Or we might not. I'm just saying, some of us are already living the #goodlife. How long til you get a taste? Sorry, I've said too much. I shouldn't have to sell it. Hope to see you at Trailhead in 48 hours.

Aye!

Announcements – Christmas Party – If you can’t go, pay for someone that wants to go but can’t afford to. Operation Sweet Tooth Collection starts December 10th and runs through the Christmas Party.

Prayers/Praises – CSPAN style – everyone named a praise or prayer. All have been lifted.

Moleskin
1. Thankful to be a part of this group and to lead this group this Saturday. At 10 til 7:00 it was just CSPAN and I sitting in his Jeep wondering if anyone else was going to post. Humbling getting to lead these men.

2. I said my praise of how thankful I am for this group and what it has meant to me. 5 years ago I was going through a divorce and what really stood out to me was how many male friends I truly lacked. I had guys I would hang out with, or play golf with, or go get a beer with, but not the kind of guys I could sit down with and have a real conversation about what was going on in my life. Thanks to F3, I now have those type of men in my life who will help hold me accountable and also be there to help in my struggles.

3. Dibs on Bounce House for the next Fastest 5k.

Halfway through the WO, had some words on staying in the moment. It is easy to get out ahead of our thoughts and wish for milestones to occur, but it is the journey that we take each and every second of the day that counts.

PAX went around the horn for what we are thankful for.

Praises and prayers.

Great work men. Thanks and always an honor to lead and have you follow.

Coupons at Varsity

  • QIC: WhatDid
  • When: 11/25/16
  • Pax: Long Shanks, Chicken Wing, WhatDid (QIC)
  • Posted In: Varsity

I rolled into Varsity extra early this morning to make sure I setup my HIIT workout and that my digital weinke was ready to go. As the hour turns past 0500, finally one car rolled in. It was longshanks. Then, as I finish setting up, a second car rolls in, Chicken Wing. Will there be more? Is it only us 3? I was a little concerned because these two HIM are two of the most consistent PAX among us and both of them push themselves to another level. Longshanks is prepping for an Ultra Beast (30 Miles up a ski mountain) and Chicken Wing has a bum hip and still sprints faster than most. I’m really going to have to be on point. …..as it was us three.

After a brief disclaimer for these vets, we started our workout.

We moseyed around the parking lot with some butt kickers, high knees and found ourselves down by the road to pick up some coupons. We each picked up two rocks and moseyed up to JROTC building with coupons above our heads. Once there we went down and picked up the cindy coupons. Two each and brought them back to our workout location. Now that the workout was setup we….

-25 SSH IC
– 12 Windmills IC
-20 Moroccans Night Climbs

With the warm up over, the fun began. I had my music list setup and the digital weinkie via my car, we did 3 sets of:

1 Min: High Knees with Rocks held above our head
20 Seconds off
1 Min: 20 Yard Sprints to 5 Merkins, then back 20 yard sprint into 5 merkins
20 Seconds off
1 Min: Squat Curls with the rocks
20 Seconds off
1 Min: Suicides
20 Seconds off
1 Min: Merkin Walk across the cindy’s
20 Seconds off
1 Min: Left Knee Down right knee down, up then jump squat
20 Seconds off
1 Min: Plank Shifts
20 Seconds off
1 Min: Mountain Climbers
20 Seconds off

After three rounds we were pretty spent. We put the coupons back and headed over to the COT.

Namearoma was quick. After an extended session of announcements/fellowship, we gave praise and rolled out.

As we head out with family and friends this weekend, enjoy and be safe.

Always an honor to lead. WhatDid out.

Another Saturday at The Reservation…

  • QIC: Dark Helmet
  • When: 11/19/16

Living up to any standard is commendable, and can be challenging. Living up to the 1st F standards at Indian Land is a whole other matter… But… well… when you’re asked to lead, you don’t say no.

No FNGs, so the disclaimer was given, up to the “no-new-guy” standard, and off we went…

Mosey a lap around the student pickup lane with a little dynamic stretching (Toy Soldiers, Knee to chest, high knees, etc.)

Stop in front of zigzag walls for a little more warm up
Windmills x 10
Richard Simmons x 10
Cherry Pickers x 10
Merkins x 10
Squat x 20
SSH x 20

10 muscle up on the wall OYO

Mosey to the playground for a round of 20-20-20
Break into 3 groups
Group 1 = 20 dips on the parallel bars
Group 2 = 20 box jumps on the concrete benches
Group 3 = 20 double count flutters
Repeato x 3

Mosey to the football practice field

7 stations set:

  • Uphill medicine ball (20lb) toss
  • Squats
  • Makhtar N’Diayes
  • Merkins
  • Donkey Kicks
  • Hairburners (50lb sandbag)
  • Sandbag (40lb) Run

The sandbag runner is the timer, the rest of the Pax perform the exercises until he gets back. Rotate stations until each Pax had performed each exercise. Repeato.

On the 2nd round, we traded out Merkins for calf raises, and donkey kicks for another thing I can’t remember…

We were pretty gassed by now, and I suggested we go at it a third time, but when Mary Lou says “or we can do something else”, you probably go ahead and move on…

We moseyed back to the cars, and then we took a lap around the pickup lane until we got to the zigzag wall again. We finished things up with some Mary, some more muscle ups, some more Mary, and then a final lap around the pickup lane.

==============

NMM:
I gotta say, I love traveling to all the different areas of our region. I have made so many friends and there are so many guys that I love to see and catch up with, over the last two years, that I just can’t help it. I am truly energized and inspired by seeing you all.

I have truly discovered the miracles of mutual suffering, and the bonds that come from it.

Looking forward to many more years to come being sharpened by all of you.

Helmet, Out.
